Did the staff at this senior care facility ever take personal phone calls when they were supposed to be helping you?
Yes! They took a personal call right in front of me. I found it to be incredibly rude.

No, If I had known how terrible they were I never would have gone.

I am a family member of a recent resident of River Oaks. My grandmother was recently moved after several issues regarding safety and cleanliness and responsiveness from staff. I truly believe she had several health issues (UTI) due to staff not cleaning her promptly and properly. She had fallen several times due to the fact that housekeeping didn't lock the wheels on her bed after cleaning the room, several times. Family members were at the facility nearly daily to assist in her care and even served on the family council.

There are fights (literally) between staff, bickering and name calling with staff and also directed towards families. I think this is a highly unprofessional environment and highly advise against choosing this facility. I can only hope with the calls and letters already submitted to the state, that others can receive better care. We have already opted to seek care elsewhere.

This facility needs to watched closely by TDADS and families.
