My dad is currently a patient at Lake Village and we have been pleased overall with the care he has received. My mom stays at the home with him during the day, and the staff has gone out of their way to help and care for her as well as my dad. If you are considering a nursing home for a loved one, please understand that it is absolutely imperative that you stay involved and are present as much as possible. No facility is adequately staffed to truly meet the needs of senior patients. However, we have found the people at Lake Village to be caring and compassionate - even if they need a little prodding sometimes.

They seemed stuck in the past. I was nervous about being exposed to archaic treatment methods. They were far to arrogant to get any sort of outside advice, even though they knew they should. I was hoping to see someone that considered my safety more important than always having an answer. I wasn't greeted at all when I entered their office. I could tell they noticed I walked in, but they still didn't acknowledge me. Everything they originally told me they would be able to do for me, they ended up not being able to do. I felt lied to all the time. The Nursing staff Julie, set at the front dest area reading a news paper while my Mother Mary Richards, lay waiting for pain medication while she was dieing. Her pain level was a 10+. My mother was abused by C.N.A.s . They pulled her feeding tube out twice, and the Nurse Donna, who was incharge sent my Mother to the E.R. with out a list of the Medications she was not able to take, and she would have died from them if they had been given to her while at the E.R.The Hospice Nurse that was caring for my Mother said they have never seen such uncaring staff. During care they gave skin tears to my Mother many times. They hit her head on the wall, ramed her arms into the the rails. scraped her finger on the wall leaving blood on the wall for two days. The Nurse took the feeding tube that was pulled out of my Mother by a C.N.A. that was on the dirty floor in a puddle of fluids from the feeding tube and started to put it back into my Mothers stomic. When told your not doing that, it's dirty by my sister Nancy, the nurse takes a wipe and wipes it off and again starts to try and put it back into mom, my sister had to stop her again. My sister Nancy, talked with staff over and over again from the Administer Brad to the new Administer who rep[aced Brad who was fired, to the Nurses, the C.N.A. so many time for so many abusive things done to my Mom. For things they did to my Mother that the Nursing home should have been shut down. I had one C.N.A. who was changing my mother while I was there in the last few days of my Mothers life say this to me when I saw she was hurting my mother. She was turning my Mother with another C.N.A. and my Mother unable to speak had terror in her eyes and major pain on her face and they were so aggressive with her . The night time C.N.A. did not even put down the rail to her bed while changing and they pinned her arm down on the rail , I said to one of the C.N.A.s you are hurting my Mother, look at the pain on her face, you are being to aggessive with her, and look you have her arm pinned down tight on the rail of the bed.The C.N.A. turned to me and said, well if you can do a better job YOU come and change her.I was so upset and stressed over them hurting mom, I went to the Night Male Nurse and told him what they were doing to my mother and that I did not want them to chnage her again. That I wanted different C.N.A.s . He looked at me like he was provoked that I would even ask that they not touch my Mother again. He said well, I don't have anyone else to do it. I asked why can't you have some C.N.A. from another area come and take care of my Mother the rest of the night, or you can come and help her. He said , no we are short staffed. I said so my Mother has to suffer and be abused because your short staff? He said i'll talk to them and tell them to be easyer with her while they do their care. My Mother spend her last days of her life in pain, scared, and not taken care of the way any one SHOULD be cared for.Your Nursing Home is REALLY HELL ON EARTH, and should be shut down. When walking in the hall ways you see room lights on for what seems like forever with out anyone checking on the Residents who live there. I heard one woman call out over and over her room number hoping that that would bring someone in to help her. I spent 5 days and nights with my Mother at your Nursing home and I saw Residents having to spend upto 5 hrs. sitting in the cold hall ways staff working around them and they were chilled from the air, yet no one asked if they were cold, or if they needed anything. They just worked around them and visited with each other at the Nurses station. What a sad was to spend the end of your years on this earth in the care of people who don't care about the people and are only there for a pay check. In Oregon, This place would be shut down so fast by the state that you would not even have time to collect your last pay check. My Mother spent all her life caring for others, She even Volunteered for years at the Nursing home I worked at showing love to so many, She put God first , Others second and herself last. She desirved so much better than the HEll your home has put her through. I worked for eight years as a social services Director in an Oregon Nursing home, and NEVER would we treat poeple the way my poor Mother has been treated by your staff. If anyone from the public is reading this and you love the person you are needing to find care for, PLEASE DO NOT take them to Lake Village Nurisng home. NO one should have to live there. Also I did not RATE this home with One star I would have given it NO stars, but the way this Poll is done , they give it a one star anyway.

My dear mother was in the Vintage Nursing Home after two large strokes which left her completely paralyzed. Her feeding tube was pulled out and pushed back in the wrong spot by an aid giving her a bath. An awful infection set in, she was in the hospital for 6 weeks. From there we moved her to the Lake Village Nursing home. They were a 5 star and we were promised that mom would get the best care from a well-trained loving staff. I had a note book that I kept dates with notes of injuries that took place with my mother. Which after the 6th month I left the book there on one of my visits by accident and of course no one found it. I went to the head man "Brad" a dozen or more times with complaints. Nothing was done about it that I know of. The night staff is rude and uncaring and rough turning and tossing my mom around in bed to change her diaper right in front of me, no telling what they did when I was not there. Mom always had boozes and skin tares on her arms and legs. Her feeding tube was yanked out by a night aid in December of 2011 and again Jan of 2012. Mom, Mary Richards passed away yesterday Jan 28, 2012 in the home on hospice because we did not put the tub back in. This is one awful place and someone needs to get in there and fit this staff before someone else had to die from their mistakes.
