Not really. I had to schedule an appointment for most of my questions.

I think so

The wait wasn't terrible, but it wasn't the best

Definitely! They staff spoke very highly of him/her

No, they were ready for me right after I arrived.

It's been about a year since Huntington Living Center made the decision to move my mom from the terrific special needs unit to the 3rd floor. Mom was an alzheimer's patient and the special needs unit was her home. They called her family and in one day had piled all her belongings onto her bed and moved her to the 3rd floor. So quickly that the family could not get there to help. In the evening, the family did arrive and found her sobbing by the front desk, wondering where she was to sleep and where she was. We were told she would adjust!!! She was never as happy or at home on the 3rd floor and began to cry more often and plead to go home. If a facility specializes in special needs care, why would you do this to an elderly patient? Later in the summer, Mom fell from her bed. It took almost full day to diagnose a broken hip and transport her to the hospital. Mom died a few days later after surgery. While the facility did some things very well, in the end, I am unable to recommend them. It has taken a year and I thought me thoughts and views might change. They have not and I can not recommend Huntington Living Center in Waterloo, NY

Staff is friendly, mean well but forget basic CNA nursing, such as stroke patients have a good side, that is the side you put the call light on. Also when turning residents that cannot turn themselves they need to be OFF their backside, not on the side and on their bum. Even end of life care should include bathing in a real shower or bathtub. Simple fixes could make this a super nice facility. Staff was very friendly, but need some pushes from families which should never be the case

They needed to pay a little more attention to detail, to make sure they didn't make any mistakes. I could tell their entire attention wasn't focused on me. When I first opened the door to their office, I noticed a faint but distinctly foul odor. It wasn't unbearable, but it definitely wasn't enjoyable. Every time I'd ask a question, it seemed like they were annoyed and didn't want to give me an answer. I understand they're busy, but they should really treat their clients better. They try to keep the restrooms stocked, but sometimes they run out of stuff. I have had to ask them a few times to re-stock.
