When it was time for our mother to be discharged from her local hospital into a rehab center following surgery for a broken hip, we were told by the hospital that all rehab facilities in the area had the same quality of care for rehabilitation. Unfortunately, this is not the case with Greenwich Woods which according to their on line description strives to rehabilitate patients to their maximum potential after surgery. Greenwich Woods is clearly is unable to handle patients who exhibit some dementia who come for rehab. This seems odd considering the business they are in - Rehab and Long-Term Care which in many cases deals with the elderly who are more apt to exhibit some dementia. Specifically, not all the therapists at this facility are of the same caliber and if you get one of the less qualified ones, which clearly was the case with our Mom, who does not know how to deal with patients with some dementia and gave up, you can forget about seeing any progress for your love one. Now that our Mom is home and under the care of physical therapist from the home healthcare agency, she is doing exercises never used by the Greenwich Woods therapist which are clearly beneficial and she's progressing.

This facility is just about making money and does not care about its patients. My 85 year old mother was there for almost two months after breaking her hip and the care was atrocious. When I asked about someone helping her and no one could help, I said that was ridiculous - the response was "this is a business." That answer came from the professional staff!! The physical therapy was useless, the staff disinterested, rude, and unresponsive. They claim patient safety but it was only after multiple requests on our part as advocates for my mother that they finally put mattresses on the floor after she fell out of bed repeatedly. It was only after multiple requests did they finally put a device in her wheelchair seat to prevent her from getting up out of her chair and hurting herself. So if you need care, don't even think about coming here. The one good thing I can say about the facility is that it is clean.
