With my heart full of appreciation, I am writing this review of Garden Grove Convalescent. This month marks the second year of my Dad's passing, and I am writing this in honor of him. My Dad stayed at the Home 14 months, and during those days, I visited him daily. I met other families who visited their love ones there, and I saw them daily. We all were thankful that there is a place like Garden Grove Convalescent to care for our parents and to give us, the families, the support in our difficult times. I loved my Dad, I still do love him. When I think of my Dad, I also remember the good people at Garden Grove Convalescent who cared for him around the clock. It is a sophisticated operations, with the nursing staff, the social staff, the sales staff, the medical records staff, the people who decorate the place monthly, the kitchen staff, the cleaning staff, and management. They are dedicated, They are pleasant. They are resourceful. They are professionals. They touches lives. They are amazing.

I just like to address the review by T. James. The review doesn't make sense. First, he was scared to get out of the car, but yet he was in the facility and eventually one of the rooms. Possibly a patient or family visiting? How can he hear the staff talking negatively if he left the room, unless he happens to overhear. Also, if he was trying to reach the facility due to an emergency, how can he call the emergency room which the nursing home DOES NOT have. That is only in the acute hospital level. Maybe he confused Garden Grove Convalescent Hospital with Garden Grove Medical Center (Acute hosp.) ? FYI If a person called 911 to report an emergency at the facility, It is obvious that the paramedics will immediately contact the nursing home to confirm the emergency.

I am an employee at this nursing home for 15 years. I welcome any concerns regarding the nursing home. However,Ii feel if someone is going to post a review to be honest about their experience. With any business, if a prospective customer have any concerns, it should be brought to the attention of the person in charge, so it may be addressed. How does one learn to fix what is wrong. I have been working in skilled nursing business since 15 years of age. So I have experienced enough in the past 23 years. All of my family members have worked w/ senior care, so I grew up around it.

Every time they left the room, the staff would immediately begin complaining about how much they disliked working there. It made me nervous, and I didn't go back. Everyone should be aware of the fact that this business is not in a very safe neighborhood. It was not what I was expecting and I was pretty scared to get out of my car. They definitely weren't easy to reach in an emergency. I was forced to call the emergency room in the middle of the night and was really scared.
