Won't pick up the phone. Difficult to get someone to pickup phone on the unit as well. Covid #s supplied to family member do not match MD.gov #s.

I give this facility a rating of 0. My mother entered this facility in 2/2016 after having a massive stroke. She could no longer walk or move herself and became blind from the stroke. My mother's stay started out with having good care so we thought. Every time the family visited my mother, she was always laying on her back just like the woman in the bed next to her. They were supposed to turn her every 4 hours but they never did. In July my mother became very ill and we found out that she had a full body infection. She was admitted to Shady Grove Hospital, and the emergency room doctor said he has never seen bed sores this bad. She had bed sores so bad that the tail bone could be seen. The sores were Stage 4 bed sores that takes 5-6 months to develop. Collingswood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center stated that she did not have them when they took her to the emergency room. During her stay at the hospital, they informed my dad that she could no longer return to their facility. They are terrible caregivers. The nursing assistants do not know what they are doing and aren't fully trained. Check the State of Maryland's Health inspection report on them from 2008-2015.

My mother was in the rehab for several weeks here. I was skeptical about this place due to online reviews. BUT found this place to be a wonderful and caring place. I highly recommend this facility. I haven't 1 complaint. The head nurse of the floor was an incredible women named Angela. She was on top of every health issue before I even mentioned it to her. Nothing gets by her. I left my mom every day knowing she was getting great care and her needs were being met. The rehab staff (including OT) were great too. The head of rehab, Tom, is incredible. He really works with each patient as an individual and pushes them to their limits, never letting them give up. The place was clean. Too man people to mention, but the entire staff was respectful, kind and helpful to my mother. I recommend this place with highly.

What an awful facility. I can't count the number of times I found my loved one lying in a mess, with the call button across the room, out of his reach. The "professional" staff never took responsibility for anything, except their increasingly escalating bills. I can't believe I subjected my loved one to this horrible quality of care.

This facility a extremely negligent and the staff is uneducated and lazy. The only star goes to the respiratory staff, who are excellent. Unfortunately, all of the respiratory staffs hard work is undone daily by the neglect by the nursing staff.

I had to call 911 for my loved one, because they were content with her sitting there suffering, and it ended up in a surgery and a hospital stay.

I feel terrible that I committed my loved one there, but have since pulled them out for their own safety. That place should be shut down.

The staff had to be re educated in stroke recognition after an incident with my loved one. Stroke is something that they should already be fairly aware of in a nursing home. All the nurses do is bring meds and never notice anything at all about the patient.

The ER staff in 3 local hospitals said that Collingswood is awful and the patients routinely come in the hospital in poor condition. The private ambulance staff said as much.

I can't say enough bad things about them, all of which are 100% true.

I will not recommend Collingswood to anyone..the nurse to patient ratio is poor. some of the nurses were very good and caring. the rooms were ok as long as you were in a private room. the patient needs to have an advocate who will be there daily to insure good care. the physical therapy stinks, the food leaves a lot to be desired. they say they check a patient's diaper every 3 hrs...not so, the nurses aid don't have the time...again the ratio to aid/patient is not sufficient. I heard too many patients complain about the care. Collingswood is too quick to get patient off medicare and onto medicade (they get more money that way). the best thing about Collingswood is Julia Karia, nurse practioner for Dr Elsaid (spelling not correct).
