My husband has been with C.M. Tucker since January, 2017. He was in another one before and I felt a need to go over every day to make sure that he was being cared for well. After about a year or less, I had seen and knew enough that was not good, thus, I moved him to a brand new one. In my opinion, they both hire young women that have little training and most on the job training, as well as, they were not paid much although it cost over $4,000 per month! They did have one nurse on duty during the day, who did not like questions. Many of us may wonder why.
After he needed more care,I moved him to this facility, C.M. Tucker, which is a S.C. nursing care for veterans. The move was the best decision that I could have made. He gets excellent care from doctors and nurses and staff. They stay in touch with me for updates on regular scheduled conference calls with several professionals in different departments. Also, you may call the nursing stations as much as you would like until bedtime. They are always there for him! In my opinion, he gets far more “professional” care than he ever received before! In my own personal opinion, again, the other facilities were mostly for profit! I do believe that a few cared about their patients, but I would not want my loved one at either again. If you have to place a loved one in one of these facilities, I would highly suggest that you check with them at varied times of day.
You may rarely come across one possibly as good, but never as qualified because the “State”pays as much as needed. I imagine, there may be other state run facilities other places that possibly are good or not as good, but T.M. Tucker is excellent.
No one asked me nor suggested I write this. I have been meaning to do it for a while.

I went to the center to do some volunteer work I took my papers in I was a Social Worker for 19 years last year 7/2017 my position for care Centers of Nassau in Fernandina Beach,Florida came to an end . My family relocated me to Columbia South Carolina. The one Day that I came into the center I was very happy with what I saw staff doing with the Residents in acting with.

They lied to me about the price on the day we moved our family member in. My family member was injured in the facility by another resident and ended up with a broken arm and broken pubic bone and yet the facility asked me to hold onto the wheelchair since the locks did not work. WHAT? Now twice they have messed up delivering my family member to a doctor appt. even though I had taken vacation time off to meet them there. On top of this, they have increased the price almost 300%
