This place was so bad, I would not put my WORSE ENEMY THERE!!!!!!
Nursing home abuse and/or neglect can involve not only the physical well-being of the resident, but also the mental, and/or psychological well-being of the resident as well.
Nursing home abuse and/or neglect can take many forms, all of which are too numerous to list. The following, however, represent common examples of nursing home abuse and/or neglect:
failure to provide proper nutrition and hydration -THE FOOD IS TERRIBLE
failure to assist in personal hygiene when needed -THEY DON’T HAVE TIME FOR THIS
over-medication – THIS IS A BIG ONE. THEY TRIED TO DO THIS TO ME EVEN TRIED WHEN THEY WOKE ME UP. IT WAS A BLACK NURSE WHO TOLD ME IF I DON’T TAKE THESE I CANT HAVE MY OTHER PILLS I GAVE HIM BACK THE PILLS. I ALSO WITNESS OTHER RESIDENCE’S BEING OVER MEDICATED.
failure to take reasonable precautions to prevent falls – THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM
failure to answer call lights in a timely fashion -WHAT IS A TIMELY FASHION? 20MINUTES TO 45 MINUTES.
failure to turn residents in their beds (leading to pressure sores) THIS AND THE NEXT ONE GO HAND IN HAND
failure to take residents to the toilet (leaving them in soiled garments or beds) I FEEL SO SORRY FOR THE RESIDENT- THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM
slapping or other physical abuse of the resident – THE CNA’S THINK THEY HAVE THE RIGHT TO SLAP THE RESIDENT’S
emotional or verbal abuse of the resident - BOTH
retaliation for making a complaint or filing a grievance- MOST DEFINITELY
failure to take adequate precautions to prevent injury to the resident -BIG ONE NO ADEQUATE PRECAUTIONS
failure to provide for appropriate medical care – MOST DEFINITELY
theft of the resident's money or other personal property – THEY JUST SAY YOU DIDN’T HAVE IT.
THIS PLACE SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN- DO NOT PUT YOUR FAMILY MEMBER HERE IF YOU LOVE THEM

after visiting many nursing homes and rehab facilities, i found boca ciega.. personally i would not put my loved one there. it seems poorly managed , the social worker is shall we say less then friendly, and the smell of urine is quite noticable.. and the facility seems old and dirty.. i chose not to put my loved one here.

They paid close attention to me and all of my questions were answered. They didn't help me as much as I was hoping and didn't answer all my questions. It was pretty hard to find the building, but I eventually found it. ! My relative lived there for 3 years. I was a nightmare!!! Terrible treatment.CNA's double-diper people. They don't care for residents at all.CNA's are coming drunk and sleeping at work, smoking outside and talking on cell phone all the time. They cover up each other .The food is awful. I would never recommend this terrible place
