I was given a prescription for glasses that were too strong. I was told to give it a week for my eyes to adjust to the new prescription but they were still causing me to have severe headaches. Altamira eye care refused to change the lens for me or issue me a full refund. I was given the option to get a $39.20 refund on the $119.00 I paid for them but I declined.

The Office Manager is awful!! Very rude and no professionalism at all. I got better results from the receptionist who was very pleasant and professional. Melissa Leonard needs to learn how to speak to paying customers or the Dr is going to lose many patients

The staff here is just shy of incompetent don't understand how the rating is high except maybe his staff is rating themselves. Long wait times low product levels aloof "doctor" just a shame that i went in the doors it will never happen again

I have been going to Dr Altamira for 5-6 years. NO MORE! The doctor is wonderful, professional, and very personable. I simply cannot understand why he tolerates such a horrible staff! From the time you walk in, you are not even acknowledged. When one of the staff even bothers to look at you, there is no greeting whatsoever. They look at you as if you are bothering them. I had paperwork to fill out to update my information-gosh, you should have seen the staff person "assisting", if that's what you call it! No smile, slouching in the chair, speaking in monotone, again, as if it was too much for her to have had to look for my name and file. And especially the office manager, Carla-she just purposely ignores you and walks away. That is what she did to me. I would expect better from her but apparently she sets the tone, therefore, the rest of the staff takes her lead. It took almost 2 months for me to receive my contacts and I paid in full for a one year supply. After the first 2 weeks went by, I was in the area and I stopped by to ask. I was told they were not in. The staff person, Anna, proceeded to speak down to me as if I was dumb, telling me they would call me, they would leave a message, they would let me know when they were in, so do not come by or call them. After a month, I called again for my contacts and was spoken to the same way and told they were not in, but a bit of news, they would look into it because it was the vendor's fault they were not in. It took 7 weeks for me to get my contacts. When I picked them up, I received the same treatment. Rude, unwelcoming staff. Dr. Altamira, I hope you will read this review and make adjustments. You are losing patients and revenue. I along with my family will not go back so that's 3 people. Others that I have recommended to you, a family of 4, another of 3, and a couple, all together that is 12 people you have lost as patients. Wake up and either send your staff for guest service training, or it's time to replace them!

If I could give a no star rating I would. The office staff are smug and rude. The Optometrist did not even attempt to speak with me. They would not allow me in the room. And only stated that he is an adult and has to go in alone. The said the were going to call the cops on me if I attempted to go in. When the optometrist went in to see my son he ignored me as he passed right by me. Refusing to speak with me. When I opened the door to go into the room the optometrist cancelled the session ignores me again and left out of the room. Not once did he try to speak with me about any concerns.

First of all this location does not have a good selection of eyeglasses they are very limited. I have also had issues with their customer service or front desk staff. Anytime you call they never identify themselves to the caller, they do not thank you for your business, and could use some training in face to face customer service and telephone etiquette. I called to speak to Dr. Altamirano and was not transferred to him. I asked to leave a message for the doctor, I wanted to let him know that I had several concerns but what occurred with my last purchase is very disappointing. I purchased some nice GiGi eyeglasses and was disappointed because they didn’t come with the case that should come with the glasses instead they gave me a Ray Ban case, I called to see if it could be switched out for a case that should come with the glasses. Originally I was told that they would order the case for me but I had to return the Rayban case. When I arrived the office manager told the girl that was helping me that the case on the desk was for the glasses I purchased that was not the case they showed me when I purchased the glasses I specifically asked about it. The lady at the front desk was only following the manager’s direction and gave me a cloth/canvass case with a zipper and the case and cloth looked used and dirty. I asked the manager if the case was used because it was dirty and all she said was that's the case for those glasses and dismissed me by walking off. Unfortunately I was on a lunch break and had meetings to attend. I did call back just to have the office manager Carla tell me that this case was not the case for the glasses when in fact when I picked them up that is what she said to me. I spend a good amount of money at this office and do not appreciate the rude treatment or lies. I try to give my business to the Southside of town but will never again purchase or visit this office again. Terrible customer service! It is impossible to speak to the doctor or leave a message I believe he should know that his staff needs a major overhaul beginning with the office manager. I do not recommend this eyeglass office not because of Dr. Altamirano but because of the rude staff. Finally the manager said she would call me when new cases came in but never once apologized for lying or for my inconvenience, and did not give an estimated time of when I should receive the case that should come with the glasses. Extremely disappointed!!!

I usually have to wait on hold for quite a while, but not as long as some other places

No, the optometrist had very advanced equipment for a pain free experience
