I was billed $555 for a 10 minute physical that would be covered by insurance if the office would make one phone call to the insurance company. They refuse to do this. I was told the cost of the physical was $120 and I had to pay that even though I was there to get established with my insurance company and the insurance told me they would cover this visit. I later received a bill with a total of $555. I was also handed another patient's paperwork to look over. As soon as I noticed this HIPAA violation, I returned the paperwork to the person working the front desk who didn't seem to have a clue what she was doing. I do have the say that the person who schedules appointments is awesome.
