While I think Dr. Shimshak is good at what she does, the office staff here is TERRIBLE. I have problems every time my son goes in regarding insurance and the employees never seem to understand what they need. The are very rude to us, both in person and over the phone. I would never recommend anyone visit them.

We received outstanding service and treatment by an experienced pediatric ophthalmologist. I have not received good care elsewhere. I've been other places that left me unattended for quite awhile, but not here. Dr Shimshak's office goes the extra mile to make us cared for, she explains everything in detail and takes what ever time we need to make sure we understand the problem and needed treatment. They are so kind and caring and they stayed open past their closing time to help. Her qualifications were obvious. I was confident that I was under the care of a professional. They always make an extra effort to be polite and courteous. It was very easy to get an appointment. They have a very flexible schedule and get me in quickly every time.

I would have to disagree with the comment about "over charging for exam". If you think about it...they are considered a specialist for a reason!!!! It's common sense that any specialist/surgent would have higher charges than any other family practice doctor.

On my personal experience the whole staff was amazing!!!!!! From scheduling an appointment to post-op time from eye muscle surgery. The receptionist was very friendly and professional. The nurse/tech/medical assistant was very patient with my son and explained everything with detail before doing it. I frequently recommend this doctor to all of my friends and family. The doctor herself explained with detailed pictures, handouts and diagrams on what the diagnoses was for my son and treatments that would potentially be done in the future.

Not many doctors out there currently take the time and patience to explain information to the parents!!!!!!!!!! LOVE THE PRACTICE!!!!!!

Everyone was friendly when making an appointment and at our office visit, but when I had questions about our outrageous bill, their true colors showed. You are just a walking dollar sign to them. They put drops in my child's eyes (which he was completely cooperative for), we waited for 25 minute for his eyes to dilate, were called into a room in which Dr. Shimshak looked into each eye for a minute or 2 with a magnifying glass and light, exclaimed his eyes were fine (my ped. wanted a second opinion) and he just had a wide nasal bridge. I was thrilled that there was nothing wrong, but was confused to how that was considered their hour long COMPLETE eye exam which I was charged $300-some dollars for!!
