I take my children here, and have since they were born. Dr. Martin and all of his staff are wonderful. Could not ask for better care. The office is small, and sometimes cramped with kids in the waiting room, but it is worth it to have that individualized care this office offers.

Dr. Martin seemed like a comforting "grandpa" type of doctor with tons of experience. He quelled my fears about my infant son's spitting up during his first year; he even clipped his frenulum when I expressed concern that it might affect his speech. However, he also told me that there was, "no reason for him NOT to be circumcised."! That should have been my first warning! When my son was 6 months old or so, this "doctor" forced my baby's foreskin back, wiped him clean, and told me I should be cleaning the white stuff (smegma) periodically. That area was red and raw for almost a week afterwards. After doing some research online, I found from multiple sources (including medical sites) that the smegma is a natural buildup that is supposed to be there. It prevents what has now happened to my son: the foreskin becomes attached to the head. This is, at certain times, very painful for my son, enough to wake him up in the middle of the night, wailing with pain. Now he has to have a procedure that would have been unnecessary, had it not been for Dr. Martin's intervention. This man should not be practicing medicine anymore, if he is not willing to leave his outdated and harmful methods behind.

took our son to Dr Martin, was healthy at birth 6lbs 8 oz, 9 apgar,at 2 weeks old he kept projectile vomiting, lost weight "FAILURE TO THRIVE"- told him our concern of pyloric stenosis- my fiance had it himself as a baby and 3 members in family-typical onset is 2-6 weeks old, projectile vomit, hereditary, and funny enough prevalent in 1st born males, which he was!!! I did everything feeding charts-no sleep- dr martin refused to diagnose that-belittled me (won't exaggerate),-he knows--after switching formulas-then- after no sleep, panic crying, catching my son's vomit, begging him "no no no" i noticed he was lethargic- took him to the ER
immediatley walking into ER he projectiled vomited in nurses station--his temp dropped to 86 degrees-after iv lamps-ER doc agreed with us said he talked to dr martin who adamently told him that it wasnt pyloric stenosis!Whatever! After vitals stabolized he was rushed via ambulance sirens lights to pitt memorial- ultrasound detected--GASP- pyloric stenosis! he dropped 5 lbs 8 oz Hum, was then sent to Chapel Hill Childrens, where he fortunately got the care he deserved. not trying to convince anyone on their dr, but as a dr's daughter, I have to say I place my care in a doctor that isnt above, or ignores a parents concern (with all the signs and symptoms to back it up) but in a dr who cares for my baby as someone. I just thank God for my son, and who knows maybe this will help him with other patients and diagnosis the real issue...By the way suzanne is great there
