I was deeply disappointed in the professionalism shown by this doctor. He was rude, nasty and offensive.I wish that they had been more courteous and respectful. They used a bit too much foul language for my comfort. They made no attempt to follow up with me after my appointment. It isn't a big deal, but it does say something about the overall atmosphere of the office. The chairs in their waiting room weren't the best but they served their purpose and I couldn't complain. Just a warning, they do not adhere to the customer is always right policy no matter what the situation is. They never listen to customers complaints and argue with them instead of trying to correct the situation. That's just bad business. Whenever I have to wait in a waiting room a while, I always look forward to at least being able to read their magazines, but not here. All of their magazines were from the 1990's and weren't entertaining at all.

This provider was acted rude, self-important and made serious assumptions about patient and family member based on unsubstantiated and misrepresented information provided him by doctors and agency that had been reported for neglect and abuse.
This doctor openly in his book supports nutritional therapy and support for psychiatric symptoms and even admits low folate levels will hinder recovery from medications, and yet when seen, he acts as if he never authored that information - he says nothing but "need to find the right drug," and acts with hostility towards those who support nutritional or alternative approaches to healing.

he's a big hypocrite who makes no qualms about distorting the character of another based on unsubstantiated facts -- labeling a family member "mentally ill" who tries to protect a patient from mislabeling or serious adverse drug reactions.

When I tried to confront him on this and his publication recommendations which he seems to ignore, he ignored me.

I wouldn't send anyone to him. No wonder it's so easy to get an appointment with him.

I took my teen age son to be evaluated for mild attention deficit disorder a number of years ago by Dr. Gualterie. I found his multidisciplinary evaluation, use of computer-based ADD testing, and personal interview with my wife and I together with our son was professional and respectful, in contrast to the two previous reviews.
Dr. Gualterie is a published expert on Attention Deficit Disorder and ADHD, and I cannot speak to the issue of his practice of General Psychiatry or Neurology. But his soft-sell approach with my son (who wasn't himself convinced he had ADD, since he associated ADD with kids with severe ADHD) sold him on trying medication. My son later exclaimed that the medication was, in fact, quite helpful in enabling him to martial his concentration in situations where he had always found himself easily distracted by other people's talking, movement, extraneous noises, and even his own other interests creeping in to his mind while he was trying to complete his work.

Dr. Gualterie's treatment helped my son learn the skills he needed to succeed academically, even without medication, several years later and currently in his graduate studies.

How sad this man is allowed to practice medicine. Dr Gualtieri was beyond rude and I am still trying to decide if am going to the Medical Board to make a complaint. He spent very little time with me and was very confrontational. The report he sent was full of mistakes. I would tell anyone thinking about going to see this man DO NOT waste you money!

I would not recommend this doctor. He hears what he wants to hear, and of a four hour unnecessary evaluation, you spend maybe thirty minutes with him maximum. Other staff whose credentials and names were not disclosed, nor even introduced, conduct tests and a brief physical exam, yet his report is presented as though he personally conducted exam. Several errors were in final report from patient "interview". Prior records are not requested in advance, nor are they requested via releases, yet patient self report is addressed in his report as though patient were delusional. The implication via final report is that all prior extensive neuropsych evals were conducted by professionals licensed by Cracker Jacks. It is my expectation and opinion that a responsible professional whose findings are not in line with patient report, prior records be requested prior to generating a report that creates barriers and impedes patient's accessibility to on-going necessary neurological care. This professional was non-responsive to patient request for releases to obtain extensive prior neurological records to include numerous hours of neuropsych testing. I wouldn't recommend this professional to anyone.
