This a very professional dental office. They are friendly and dentist took time to discuss all my options with me. They also have a financial manager that discusses in advance what you can expect to pay after your insurance coverage. I am impressed.

I was a new patient at Baytown Gentle Dental. I was not experiencing any problems with my teeth, I just wanted to get them cleaned since it had been over a year and a half since my last visit to a dentist. When I arrived for my appointment I waited in the lobby for 10 minutes and was taken to an office and told I owed $54 for that day, but was not told what I was paying for exactly. I then waited another 25 minutes (almost 45 minutes after my appointment time) before I was taken back to a room. The assistant taking the x-rays was new (I hope) and had difficulty getting the bite-wings correctly positioned, and finally a hygienist came in and took over taking the x-rays. The hygienist then spent time taking photos of my teeth and getting measurements. When the dentist came in, she looked at the x-rays, and listened to the hygienist and explained that I would need a Type 2 cleaning to clean below the gums. No cleaning of my teeth was done. I was then taken to another office and given a printout explaining the recommended treatment: Type 2 cleaning, regular cleaning, and 3 fillings (that were not explained). The cost of the services was going to be $1200. I told them I needed to think about it, and left because apparently that was all that was going to happen. The next week I went to another dentist who cleaned my teeth, said they were in good shape, said I did not have any need for a Type 2 cleaning. The new dentist said the cavities Gentle Dental wanted to fill are so small that its not worth the cost of getting the filling, and they did not even see on of the supposed cavities. Baytown Gentle Dental said I needed services that are unnecessary. I have a feeling if I had the work done that was suggested, in the future Baytown Gentle Dental would find other work that needed to be done to my teeth. Yes, the office staff is nice and professional and the facilities are nice, but the service and diagnosis are not. As a new patient I was lead to believe that I would have a teeth cleaning in my visit, not just x-rays and a list of (bogus) needed treatments. Needless to say I will not be returning to Baytown Gentle Dental, and will not recommend them to others.

My family and I have been patients of Baytown Gentle Dentle for the past 6 years or so. When we first visited Baytown Gentle Dentle the Doctors and the Hygeneists were on top of everything. They were social, understanding, sensitive to your fears and worked with you on finances. HOWEVER....over the past few years the dentists and hygeneists have all started leaving. They have issued me TWO new distists over the past couple of years and both of them were very uncertin about my teeth, wanted to do extensive work on my teeth that was not neccisary. The last one wanted to do a root canal on a healthy tooth! I dont know what is going on behind the scenes to make all the good dentists want to leave, but the doctors that are there now have very poor judgment and very poor knowledge in my opinion. The office service has just went completely downhill. I DO NOT recomend services here.
