I saw this dentist for several years. I had an infection in one tooth. They just did normal cleanings and never did anything about the infection. The doctor could see the exudate when I was at the appointment. Finally when I pushed him about the problems I was having he referred my to a periodontist it was too late. I later found out that he should have been measuring the pockets in my teeth at least once a year. I ended up losing the tooth. I went to my dental appointments every six months. I find that this dentist breached his "duty of care" to me as a patient. Make sure when you see a dentist they are performing the checks that they should. All teeth need to be looked at thoroughly for pockets.
