I tried calling on a Saturday for an emergency. It says online that they are open on Saturdays 10-5. No one answered the phone, but there was a message on the machine saying that they open Wednesday at 10 am. Not a good start, I will rate it at the worst possible.

Do not choose A & A for your dental care!

As an out-of-town college student, I visited A & A to have a cavity filled while away from home. Before the drilling began, I had clarified with the dentist that only one cavity was going to be filled. Only AFTER the incredibly long and painful procedure was I informed that not one but TWO cavities were filled during my time in the chair. I was charged for both despite my lack of awareness and verbal consent - watch what paperwork you sign!

The entire time, I had an uneasy feeling that the dentist was drilling too far, too deep and for too long (I have had worse cavities filled in less time). After the procedure, my suspicion grew worse when I was notified that "medicine" was placed inside my tooth because the dentist had come close to the root, and that I may need in a root canal in the near future as a result. I've confirmed with my home dentist that the ONE surface cavity that needed to be filled did not come close to warranting such deep drilling - and that this could easily be a setup for future, more profitable dental work. With the way the dentist urged me to schedule appointments for another 3 cavities (none of which were identified by my primary dentist on my current X-rays), I feel that profit could easily be a motivation.

I truly feel I was ripped off. Regardless, I was misinformed, a second cavity was filled without my knowledge or approval, and the procedure was longer and more painful than necessary.

Please do yourself a favor and avoid the nightmare that is A & A Dental Center of Poughkeepsie.

They paid close attention to me and all of my questions were answered. The doctor was highly skilled. Their staff is friendly, flexible, and welcoming. All my questions were answered. The office was very clean and easy to locate.
