they only care about how much they can bill your insurance... went for cleaning - which they billed insurance for at $300, but only cleaned my teeth for 10 minutes. She said i needed deep cleaning which would cost $600 out of pocket since they had already used all my insurance for the year. I asked if i could finish the regular cleaning but the hygenist had already left for the day .. at 3PM? stay away from this place!

I went in due to a chipped tooth April/May of 2013, so i needed a crown ..they knew exactly how much to charge on my dental insurance and made sure they grabbed every bit of it. After the crown work they suggested a cleaning since i had that open money on my dental. I went back for the cleaning and was in the chair for 10 minutes when the hygenist suggested i get a deep cleaning. I said ok, next time. She abruptly finished and said to schedule it at front desk. I was then told it would cost me $600 out of pocket. I said can i go back and sit down to finish the regular cleaning... the hygenist had amazingly left for the day! Beware, this place only cares about how much money they can get out of you. I canceled the deep cleaning the next day!

Their office was one of the quietest, most peaceful places I've ever visited. I was able to relax very easily. I was confident that they were using the latest treatment methods. I could tell that they took pride in their office's appearance. It was very well organized and well taken care of.

I have been a patient for about 10 years and had always love going there until today. I was so disapointed with the service provided. First I had a 2:30 appointment for both a cleaning and additional work. I had my teeth clean immedatedly and was expected to see the dentist immediately after only to be told he was running an hour behind. I went out for a bit and returned in an hour only to wait for another 1/2 hour in the waiting room then taken back and waited another 1/2 hour for the dentist. Then his assistant came in and said he will be right in. I waited another 15 minutes. He came in did not apologize and then give me the shot to num my gums. I then waited another 20 minutes and still nothing. It is now 5:30, three hours later. I got so upset I got up and left. While I waited for the elevator, the front desk clerk asked, were you seen and gave her a dirty look and said no, got into the elevator and left. Having choices is a wonderful thing.

I first went to 34th Street Dental out of a recommendation from my company. Apparently Dr. Tarica or his employees attends our health fair annually to promote themselves. Silly me, then, for assuming they had several dentists in my network (MetLife).
I went for a check-up, presented my insurance and all, then waited for 30 minutes to be called. Their staff ignored me while talking about going out that night, and honestly I felt the place was just a little too dirty for what is supposed to be a sanitized environment.
I went back for a cavity to be filled. The day my cavity was filled, I went back to work and as the numbness wore off, decided to get some lunch. I almost choked on a piece of gauze they had left in the back of my mouth. Awesome.
Six month later I decide to try another dentist. Upon checking my insurance, they told me I was maxed out on my yearly alottment. On just a check-up and a cavity. Suspicious.
Turns out-after much investigation, Dr. Tarica and his staff had charged me as out-of-network to max out my benefits. He offered to let me come back in for check-ups "on the house." No. I forced him to fix it with my insurance and he was very unhappy to do this and took over a month to do so.
As I spread the word about what had happened, more and more people from my office checked into their recent billings and, what do you know, the SAME THING. He got outrageously upset that we were talking about it and begged us to stop calling Met Life. He threatened that if he changed it with the insurance we would owe him money (a flat-out lie). He offered to cut one of us a check. And ultimately said he was offering us a "good deal" and "good service" and that we couldn't possibly understand how insurance billing works.
Bottom line, I do NOT recommend this place. If you do go, CHECK YOUR BILLS. He will bill you as seeing whatever dentist in that office is out of your network until you catch it.
I think this is at the least an unethical operation, and at the most, illegal. Visit at your own financial risk.
