As an MD in the community, I am very particular about whom I trust to provide my dental care. I am also a very anxious patient! Dr. Appelbaum and his staff paid close attention to me and all of my questions were answered. Their staff are most friendly and welcoming. They are so warm and professional, and make the whole experience that much better. All my questions were answered, and I feel a lot more confident and hopeful about the future. No question about recommending them!

I didn't wait long at all. My appointment started on time, and the wait was much shorter than other offices I have been to. They have really great customer service here. They always put their customers first, regardless of the situation. The waiting room here is spacious. I never feel like I have to sit too close to someone or that it is overcrowded. They always take the time to listen to me. I know they really care about me and what I have to say. They answered my questions and spent a lot of time with me. I didn't feel like they were trying to rush my appointment at all.

It was very clear that they didn't take pride in their office's appearance. In fact, the office was disgusting. I did not feel safe at all in their care. I definitely had doubts about their qualifications. It's shocking how little they seem to care about customer service. From my experience It appears as if customers are never put first here. The staff is incredibly rude and seem to care more about themselves. They never take that extra step to make me feel special. I haven't ever felt that they care enough to get to know me and that I'm almost an irritation. I would never visit them again. I was very disappointed.

I met this dr at UMD dental school in Newark where he teaches part time. He was supposed to propose a treatment plan, then approve and sign it. He never saw my chart or my diagnostic cast prior to seeing me for the first time. He gave me a quick oral exam, i briefly explained what i wanted to have do, he came up with a plan, wrote in the chart and walked away. The whole process took about 5 minutes. I did not get a chance to ask important questions. Due to the nature and cost of my case such brief consult was unacceptable. I asked the student doctor when/if i can see dr. appelbaum again. I was told to come back another day. I returned several times only to find out this dr was not there. Finally i came and was told another dr will see me. That dr deserves a separate review.

Dr appelbaum failed to disclose very critical information about my complicated condition and treatment. He either had no financial incentive to help me or simply wanted a quick easy way to get rid of me as a customer because his plan would eventually fail. Thanks to some of his peers at UMD i canceled "treatment" and seeked opinions of other specialists. None had anything nice to say about the dental school or this dr's "treatment" plan.

I happened to be one of the lucky ones who did not lose a lot of money at the school. I can only imagine how many unsuspecting customers suffer because of dr. appelbaum's lack of interest/incentive or any other reason i cannot understant. Most of them don't know they are doctors first, then businessmen. Until there's some kind of healthcare reform we'll always be customers and they can get away with anything.
