I went to this dentist for a cleaning and a broken tooth. While the hygenist checked my gums and called out numbers, another person was writing them down. It was pointed out to me that I had not only one brokentooth, but two. The financial person in the office quoted a figure to me for the repair of the second tooth. I toldhim that it was beyond my means; he then offered me 'care credit' and, even though I advised him that my credit score is very low (divorce, foreclosure, etc.), he proceeded to try to finance the repair. Well, of course, I was turned down. So, you get the picture? I clearly told him that I could not afford the procedure, and clearly, no one was going to finance it for me. I told him that the tooth wasn't bothering me and that I was content to wait until the following summer when my dental insurance was renewed. My appointment was up for me to have the original tooth (that I came in for); I came in, was numbed up, Dr. Joe began his work. He said, "as long as I'm doing one, I might as well do the other". I was in no position to argue, as I lay there in the chair with instruments in my mouth, and drooling. Besides...He is the professional, not me. I figured that, evidently, knows more than I do. Then I get the bill. Nice. I feel so foolish, so duped and so taken advantage of; especially when I was up front and honest with them from the beginning. Now I'm stuck with an enormous bill that I can't pay, and am going to take yet another hit to my credit report. Here I am, a single mom of 2, working two part-time jobs and now this. I have no real issues with the staff, they were all very nice to me but I cannot pay this bill.
