I have a phase 4 mitral valve prolapse and paroxysmal atrial fibrillation, and was sure that immediate surgery was my only option, but after an electrocardiogram, cardiac catheterization and stress testing by Dr. Goldman, I was told that "the numbers don't yet add up" to surgical intervention. All of this was calmly, clearly and thoroughly explained in terms that a layman can understand, as were the best available pharmaceutical options. I may need surgery in the future to repair/replace the valve, but the "no rush to surgery" approach was the best news a man of my age could have. A great cardiologist and a very good man.
