Stay away from this man! He writes a concoction of meds that will render you useless. Like the other commenter stated, he pushes tons of meds on most if not ALL of his patients. Funny, because most of them are on the same thing. (We talk while in the waiting area). I was ALSO on Morphine Sulfate.....that was just one of many. When you tell him they make you loopy, he continues to write them for you. Or put you on something similar. He writes tons of meds because he gets money for writing them! He's been sanctioned for injecting his patients with too many injections! He lied to his patients to get them to write testimonies about how he helped them to use them in COURT! Look it up! Get the word out there, he's a QUACK! He was shut down for 3 months because of this and lied to everyone. He also tries to get you to get your family and friends to come to him. He says he will help them with pain (ok I get that), he said he can be their psychiatrist (???) and just their general doctor (again ???). He's a crummy doctor and only worries about money. Oh yeah, and Blue Cross blue shield won't accept him anymore. He shouldn't be allowed to practice medicine anymore. I have a feeling if the state knew all of this that he wouldn't be. AVOID THIS MAN. I PROMISE YOU HE IS A MONEY HUNGRY WACK JOB WITH A Ph.D.

Reading on the reviews I can't agree more on the great skills and wonderful service of Dr. Massumi and his professional staff. I have depended on him for over 15 years to keep me going in the face of significant disabilities from my lupus, peripheral neuropathy and previous stroke. He is a master of his trade - very knowledgeable, a member of Harvard Medical Association and has many degrees in specialties to his credit. He has saved me thousands of dollars - not only are his fees very reasonable and fair but by providing excellent care and simple workable solutions for my many problems he has saved me exorbitant costs of surgery and other expensive hospitalization. I recommend him as the best in his field. He is a tribute to his profession and specialty.

After leaving the armed forces, I had herniated three discs in my lumbar spinal section, I also suffer from sciatica, arthritis, and degerative disc disorder. I was in pain constantly. I started to see dr. Massumi on a regular basis. I started one lortab ten mgs 4 times a day, within a few months I was on morphine sulfate extended release, a month later, the potent narcotic fentanyl was added in a 72 hour transdermal patch. By this time, I can admit to going only for the narcotics. Despite becoming addicted, I was often called a drug addict via the phone and even in person. I asked to be weined off, this is bad for business and he placed me on opana, which is oxymorphone hcl. I was taking 6 to 7 pills of the strongest mg per day. I couldn't think clearly and slept a lot. He has a terrible bed side manner and is a know it alll. He will interrupt you and even insult you in front of family members and loved ones. I refuse to recommend him to anyone who doesn't need end stage cancer narcotics to get relief. I've had ER doctors say "why are you on that? I know people dying of cancer that aren't taking those kinda of meds. I had to goto rehab after I stopped going to his office to get off the drugs safely due to my siezure disorder. Basically, if you want to be a zombie, he's your man. I call him the dreaded drug pusher in a white lab coat. STAY AWAY!
