I've been thinking a lot recently about my mental health treatment overall, and bad experiences in particular. I saw Dr. Siegel for a med evaluation 5 years ago. She made a comment to me about a specific aspect of my life being "really unusual." I felt absolutely humiliated. It was something rather personal. I actually returned once more because I really didn't want to "let her comment win" so to speak, but I just felt way too uncomfortable after the way she treated me during our first meeting. That comment is still bothering me a little to this day, unfortunately. Interestingly, neither her nor the office ever called me back after it would have been apparent to them that a mentally ill patient had not made a follow-up appointment. I could have killed myself and they never would have known or cared. Anyone out there looking for a psychiatrist - you can do SO much better than this woman.

Dr. Siegel made me feel worse after our appointment than prior to meeting her. We were in a tiny, cluttered office, with the heat blasting, and she says straight-forward, "I am not a counselor. I am not hear to listen to your concerns."

She never asked for my medical history, insulted me by suggesting I had little classroom management (as a teacher) and that my anxiety was making my students misbehave. I barely mentioned behavior issues in my classroom and that was NOT a concern of mine.

Their office was the absolute perfect temperature. It was so nice to be able to get out of the weather outside and sit in a relaxing, comfortable office. Not only was their advice completely unbiased, it was practical, realistic advice that I could implement into my everyday life, and it worked. I've already been recommending them to all my friends and family. I don't think there's a better psychiatrist out there.
