Dr. Merenkov is a very caring, competent psychiatrist. She helped me through several difficult medication adjustments, and through several very difficult personal ordeals. I would highly recommend her, perhaps especially for depression. I think one great measure of a psychiatrist is whether you can tell if he or she thinks about you and your care when you're not there (i.e. b/t appointments)--she does.
Her clinical orientation is based on psychotherapy (combined with medication if appropriate), in contrast to behavioral therapy. She always makes herself available in terms of emergencies (can page and will return them promptly, in my experience). When I was seeing her, she did not handle insurance claims through her office.
If you're feeling the need to talk to someone (please get help if you do feel that need), you will find a kind, helpful voice on the other end of the phone when you call.
