RUN! one star is far too high. Six years ago I started going to Highalnds Dental. I had significant problems, and I knew it would take a while to resolve them all. Instead of any improvements, I am left with shattered teeth, pain and the inability to bite down and chew anything tougher than hamburger. I was treated by more than five different doctors who obviously didn't communicate with each other. One visit was for an extraction. After more than THREE hours, I was sent to an oral surgeon for emergency care - at MY expense! The doctor who couldn't complete the extraction promised to make things right, but had left the practice by the time I had healed from the surgery. After more visits and no real progress, I had run out of sick days, and eventually lost my job due to the number of absences for appointments and the days afterwards when I was using pain killers. I understand that complications exist, but it was their final blow that put me over the edge. Nearly five and half years later, I get a call from an attorney to collect $670 in unpaid charges!!! I had to prepay my portion before every visit, there are no unpaid charges, but they are now trying to get more money out of me after ruining my health and costing me my job.

The doctor really seemed to know what he was talking about. I loved all the cool technology in the office! A little slow to get my crown, but it looked and felt great!

This company is a scam. I paid in full for work at their Clearwater office and when I showed up for my final appointment, on 10/2013, the place was closed down, no notice. I ran into 3 other patients in the parking lot that morning in the same predicament.

I had to google the dentist, Jeffrey A.Martin, and the company Highlands Dental, to discover that there was an open office in Lakeland, as the calls to the Clearwater office were not being returned.

Very unsatisfied and filing complaints with regulatory & consumer agencies...

They started off great but quickly over time the office staff changed. Saw a different DR each time. Then we got a Massive bill from the Insurance because we went to an Out of Network Provider. We did not. The Office brought in an Out of Network Provider. After weeks and weeks of phone calls there were able to fix it. We always had Saturday appointments. Then the office would just cancel them without notice. Then a few weeks ago they called and canceled another Saturday appointment. They said they no longer doing them. Same day we get a postcard in the mail to "Set up new Saturday Appointments" It has their name, and address on it, but when you call they say it is only for the Clearwater office. (no Clearwater office address or phone number on the card). The left hand does not know what the right hand is doing any more.

They made sure every single question I had was answered, the doctor was very good with the exam. The one bad thing about this doctor she talked to the nurses like they are stupid then she would laugh like something was funny. she sat in the chair and yelled for the one girl when the other one was in the room with us. She made a joke out of this girl she was working hard looked to me she was working on two other people. the people at the desk where a little unorganized butthe staff is very friendly and professional.
I felt like the doctor needs to be more respectful....
