I have never had a psychiatrist ever and I found Dr. Saavedra. She listened, she clearly knew the problem, removed me from all my medication. Corrected the "issue" and now I have my life back. She is a wonderful doctor and I just want everyone to know. She will help you, if you want to be helped. I recommend her to anyone looking for a doctor to tell you the truth. If you are considering a doctor, understand that you do not want someone that will placate you, that will tell you what you want to hear and then over medicate you. You want someone to find out what the problem is and how to fix it. She did exactly what I needed her to do. She will do the same for you but you have to come talk with her and she will tell you in her professional opinion what the problem is, what we are going to do to correct the problem and how we move forward. She doesn't rush you out of the office either. She lets you talk, she listens and she advises up to you to take control of your health. I am not paid by her, nor am I affiliated with Dr. Saavedra or anyone that works for Dr. Saavedra, nor was I asked to provide this review. I want people to know the truth that she's the real deal. She will help you if you let her.

Dr. Saavedra is simply the best. She saved our marriage and probably saved our daughters life. Yes, she is no nonsense and too the point. She expects her patients to take responsibility for themselves and work hard to solve their problems. Anyone who comes here from Russia and goes through residency again (at the University of Florida) has to be a dedicated doctor and professional.

I made an appointment for my teenager son who's been having suicidal thoughts and engaging in self harming. The waiting for a first time patient was about 2 months. I made the appointment informing the secretary the importance and serious of the case. My son got kind under control after I took him to mental health, so I can wait for the appointment. I was feeling really hopeful about this psyquiatric because some reviews I read before. The day before the appointment they called me informing me that my son's appointment was cancelled because a doctor's emergency. I almost cry and ask when will be the next appointment and the secretary say that she don't have any openings and she will call me. I desperate ask her to give me an appointment soon because the serious of my son's mental health. She promested to call me back. I wait one week and I call again. The secretary promest me to call me back as soon as she get openings. One more time I explain her the serious of the situation and I complained that I never got a call back from last week. She was indifferent to our situation so I told her today to don't call me, because I will look for another doctor. After reading previous negative posts about the doctor I'm glad I never waste my time there!

Warning !! Take heed in the reviews below. Do not trust this woman, She and her staff will lie right to you. The wait is always excessive
If you was want flavor of the month medicine with an excess of trials and and errors to get anything right then go here. They will not provide your medical records to you and will lie to you about what they have. After numerous attempts to obtain my records so I could decide whether to sign a HIPPA form for a lawsuit, Her and her office told me they had only 1 page of billing for my records and i signed the form. They sent me one page with billing info. Exactly two minutes later they sent six pages of my personal records to the person I am suing (I now have a copy of they fax she sent). I found out 7 months later by accident minutes before a deposition with her was about to begin where she accepted $1600 from the party I am suing to become an expert witness. Two months after she provided the records to the other party, that information was used in a my deposition while I was misled about what was turned over by her for an additional 5 months.
Withholding of my records from a patient by use of "therapeutic privilege" is not ethical behavior. According to Opinion 8.082 of the American Medical Association, withholding of medical information without a patients knowledge or consent is ethically unacceptable. She has created a conflict between her obligation to promote wellness and fails to have respect for patients autonomy by not communicating truthfully.
There is nothing to prevent her from disclosing records with proper authorization or becoming an expert witness. The failure to disclose the type of information about myself that she was in custody of and withheld from me is unethical. She is Un-ethical and not trustworthy. Her lack of ethics has cost me a lot of time, money, and heartache. My advice is to stay far far away!

When comparing them to others in their field, I would say they are by far the worst I have ever seen. I will never return. Their prices were very affordable, but they could not tell me before my appointment how much I could expect to pay. It doesn't matter how many times I come here, they just cannot seem to remember my name and they make no effort to even try. I'd rather go to someone else who might actually appreciate my loyalty and business. My appointments get canceled here a lot. I usually just go to someone else in the area because I can't count on them ever. They made me wait in the waiting room for so long, I was in there for hours. The doctor is aggressive, rude, and appears to hate women in general. She is insulting about every aspect of a person, from their intelligence to their physical attributes. Her comments are at best unprofessional; at worst, they seem to indicate that she herself needs a psychiatrist. Before starting with Saavedra, I was warned that she gets all her patients from her husband across the hall and that she is incompetent. I did not believe it, but now I know. Run, do not walk, away from this provider.

I've been going to Dr. Savedra since I was 15... she's a great lady who knows what she's doing. I don't understand reviewers who characterize her as being cold and uncaring. Shes not nominated year after year as one of Orlando's best psychiatrists for no reason... Yes the wait times are long if you schedule for the afternoons- 10-11 am appointments were the quickest for me. Overall, no complaints and GREAT secretary!
