Dr. Grewal has the absolute worst bedside manner. My father was admitted to Tracy Sutter Hospital after suffering a mild heart attack where Dr. Grewal is the cardiology hospitalist. When he first entered the room to see my father, there was no usual "Hi how are you doing?" rather his exact words were " how are you retired and why you don't have insurance." While in fact my father DID have insurance this should not be a determining factor in how one should be treated especially by a physician. Is he not aware of the Hippocratic Oath he took as a physician to treat the ill to the best of one's ability? I'm confused? Does Tracy Sutter Hospital not require compassion as a prerequisite when hiring their physicians? Again, I'm confused. He then spoke to my father's primary care physician and informed her that he needed a cath but he doesn't have insurance so until then they weren't going to do anything cause he is not going to get paid for this and that if she wanted to care of her patient then she should come and get him. As a medical professional myself, I deal with physicians of a way higher caliber and notoriety than Dr. Grewal and never once experienced such tactlessness and discrimination. Dr. Grewal needs to check his greed at the door and pick up some compassion along the way because this is not the way you treat a patient regardless of the circumstance.
