I am a lady in my 60's who fell down 13 steps and suffered a bad tib/fib break. I had never had a broken bone in my body, so this was very traumatic, and it was extremely painful. It required 2 surgeries to correct. Dr. Traub could not have been more kind, knowledgeable, or reassuring. After 3 months I am now walking pain free without a walker. He is an amazing surgeon that I would highly recommend.

I hope that I can see Dr. Traub when I need a hip replacement. I had my first knee replacement in Fl and was not satisfied with the experience at alll. Finally I knew that it was time for the second knee to be done. By then I was a Kaiser Permanente patient and they referred me to Dr. Traub. What a difference. I enjoyed visiting his office, and I didn't suffer in pain like I did the first time. He was very encouraging like he really cared about how I progressed.

After that "impasse" which took me to total knee replacement, I now know what to expect. Although you may hear people saying it is the worst pain ever, I felt that Dr. Traub preparing me TRUTHFULLY, his 2 physician's assistants, the hospital staff, the staff at Dr. Traub's office and my physical therapist, I have to admit....YES there was pain....BUT IT WAS CONTROLLED. I FELT TOTALLY SUPPORTED BY ALL INVOLVED!
I know myself (rather than by recommendation from others) that I chose the best orthopedic surgeon - Dr. Traub!
Come August, I'll be doing the other knee replacement WILLINGLY. Have to commend the physical therapist I have now w/increasing mobility/lessening pain - yet preparing my other knee for the upcoming surgery.
; THANK YOU, DR. TRAUB! You changed my life!

Having painful, debilitating bilateral knee pain (osteoarthritis) for the past several years, I knew I was headed for knee replacement! As a school counselor in Gw. Co., I had numerous recommendationsto go to Dr. Traub - that he is one of the best orthopedic surgeona. Since my first appt. nearly 2 years ago, I KNEW he was genuinely a caring, empathetic, honest, skillful, knowledgeable surgeon who truly wanted to help me. HIs assistants and staff are equally as wonderful - no matter how many questions I've asked during appts., numerous times I've called, I have NEVER had anything but helpfulness, reassurance, and all questions answered by anyone approached.

Dr. Traub has always taken the time to explain things in laymen's terms as well as explaining beyond if I still didn't understand - he did this w/o hesitation, looking directly at me, sincerely wanting me to feel taken care of and in good hands. He never hesitated to discuss present/ future treatments and the state of my arthritis whether I asked him or not - it was just "automatic".

His bedside manner is phenomenal - always smiling, even when he has to give the "not so good news". He is always reassuring me that by working together, following his and the team's advice (including the hospital care coordinator/nursing staff/phys. therapists when the time comes), that the surgery/recovery would be quicker/easier. What I really appreciate is his honesty telling me in so many words - no pain, no gain - you have to work hard, there will be pain but I'll be kept as comfortable as possible. Along with Dr. Traub, his assistants, his "team", the hospital staff, and involving family and friends for support, coaching and encouragement, I would get through it all and I wouldn't go through it alone.

My arthritis has progressed w/treatments working for less time and I am now at an impasse - time for the first knee replacement or continue w the pain! If I were told this 2 years ago I would have cried my heart out being scared to death. However, through the time he takes for progressive learning about what happens with the surgery, being introduced to patients recently having this done and doing very well, a brochure explaining pre-post surgery preparations, and starting strengthening exercises MONTHS ago I feel prepared for what's to come, ready to get it done (and then be invited back for the other knee replacement!) I am confident that he is definitely the surgeon I want doing my knee replacement - and he will be compassionate, empathetic, caring, answering questions, explaining, coaching/pushing me to do "more for quicker/easier recovery". He will do it all with a smile, and I will work harder because he and his assistant prepared me. This is the best thing I can do for MYSELF...and I will do it all w/o complaining...and a smile!
