I went in for two ingrown toenails. The "surgery" was much more extensive than needed, even though I questioned Dr. Wostein at the time of the pro cedure. He just went ahead, moving quickly and cutting aggressively. I left the office in pain, bewildered, and uncomfortable. I got an infection in both toes and almost lost both toe nails. I decided not to go back as I was so disappointed and upset. As info, I had the ingrown toe nail procedure with a different podiatrist twice before and with no problems, no infection and nails left intact except for a small area between the nail and the a adjacent skin.. Now, several years later, my nails have still not fully re-grown, and I doubt they ever will. two podiatrists have confirmed that more growth is unlikely. I am very self conscious about my toe nails and have stopped wearing sandals altogether. I felt like I was being treated in a office environment and with outdated equipment and procedures from the 1970's. I strongly suggest that you have Dr. Wostein explain what he is about to do before he begins any procedure.
