I keep hearing Dr. Gunter's ads on the radio about how great he is and that other Dermatologists over charge for P.A.'s etc. I saw this guy twice and was NOT impressed at all. He said hello and that was it. He would not speak directly to me - only through his two "nurses" in the room and was the MOST arrogant. self absorbed doctor I have ever seen other than an Ortho I saw up here in Ridgecrest about 8 yrs ago. I needed a biopsy and he DID NOT do it. His "assistant' did it. That ad he has running is so hypocritical I can stand to listen.to it. I don't know if it was because i'm older or because I had MediCal along with my Medicare but he was unpleasant to be around because of his rudeness. I would have given him zero stars but you can't submit the review if you don't check at least one.

If you want to wait an hour and and a half sitting in his waiting room and get at most 30 seconds for him to grace you with his entrance to let him ask you where your concerns are and not give you a full body exam and then have you talk to his back so he can cram as many people as he can to make his trip worth while. I went to Bakersfield today. Got a full body exam in 30 minutes. He loves to get biopsies which I thought were unneeded to pad his pockets from those who may not needed them.

Their staff was friendly enough. Their equipment was current, nothing special though. I wish they would update it a little more. I would recommend this doctor to people I know if I couldn't think of anyone better to suggest. For the most part, I think that this provider's office was pretty well staffed. It seems the default treatment for everything is liquid nitrogen spray, which I don't appreciate. The wait times are aweful and the two minutes he does spend are rushed and leaves you wondering why you came. Every treatment I've gotten has been temporary and I'm back to the usual problems in a year or so.

Dr. Gunther's office is basically a mill. He is very competent but does not spend too much time with patients. Because he stacks as many as 8-10 patients in one hour, the wait can become long. It averages between 60-90 minutes. Because you are rushed through nuances of your care may not be addressed. I have a simple case, and ignore the demands to return every month and return as needed. Since I take control and responsibility for my own care, I have been happier with the office than most. If you are a working person, most people cannot take that much time off from work to see a doctor for 5 minutes. But he is capable of diagnosing the ailment and you are not shuffled off to see a PA.
