My experience with Ms. O'Reilly left me with a strong impression that she disrespects men. She seemed to be hardwired to jump to conclusions about my wife's feelings while totally ignoring mine and responding as if she had not heard what I said. I was left with the message, "just shut up and do whatever your wife wants. Your views and feelings do not matter."

While pure selflessness is often good advice, it does not help a longstanding marriage that has two people in it, both of whom have their own feelings and viewpoints. I was very surprised to get such shallow and unexamined advice from a professional with her qualifications.

I was so puzzled by her unyielding and irrelevant feedback that I had to revisit her web page to review her ample qualifications. It might have been a clue that she is many years older than her photo on her web page. I suspect that empathy, objectivity. and sincerity are not her strong points.

If you are a woman looking for validation to leave your male partner, Elaine is for you. If you are a spouse of either gender looking for a way to understand yourself and your spouse and recall the closeness you once had, look elsewhere.

I have worked with a number of therapists over the years, and I found Elaine Oreilley to be the most compassionate, thoughtful, warmhearted and brilliant therapist I've met. Without exception, she was willing to kindly confront the issues that I lacked clarity and help me find the insight I needed to make change in my life. Her rates are reasonable and the value for the money is, according to my husband, worth every dime and then some.
I would highly recommend Ms. Oreilley as a therapist.

I am writing because I am astonished at the previous reviewer's opinions. I have seen Elaine professionally for a number of years. She is kind, focused, attentive and brilliantly insightful as a therapist. She has helped me navigate through the biggest of personal and family challenges with extraordinary caring and skill. Her use of EMDR to guide through past issues is amazing. Elaine has also always been clear and candid about her services and fees and how insurance billing works with these. (Of course, insurance billing is frustrating and often leaves us as insureds with more of a professional's fees than we might think fair. But it is hardly surprising to any ordinary consumer that you have to pay for professional services if insurance declines payment! And, the language attributed to her by the one reviewer is not something Elaine would say.) I just could not recommend Elaine more highly and urge you to consider her, if you need assistance in psychotherapy or consulting regarding family and parenting issues. She is terrific!

I have been seeing Elaine for 12 years now. When I started seeing her I was going through a divorce, and Elaine was very supportive of all the very difficult feelings I had to work through. Some of the stuff I had to talk about was really icky and Elain didn't hesitate or treat me any differently. In fact, she asked good questions and helped me identify some really difficult things about myself I didn't want to see. I have seen a few therapists throughout my life and Elaine is the most skilled in my opinion. To the previous poster's point... I personally find insurance to be a complete hassle no matter what you do. Elaine has always been professional and very polite about it. I would tend to think the original poster was a troll because I have never known Elaine to have an unkind word to say about anyone, even when we had to talk about financial payments and all that. She's among the warmest people I know. I rated Elain very high because she really does meet the criteria. I would encourage you to go and talk to her yourself. The original poster is so far off what I know of Elaine that he just has to be a troll.

I didn't wait long at all. My appointment started on time, however after our visit with this counselor she harassed us for months on payments! She claimed insurance never paided her but every time we called insurance they claimed she was not telling the truth! Elaine O'Reilly actually had the nerve to tell me that I ripped her off and that my insurance company was terrible! Then on top of it told me all insurance lies. What was terrible was her awful lies, her bookkeeping and they way she spoke to a client!! She's a scam artist!! Do not go to her, she will try to scam you out of more money!!!
