She is not understanding, empathetic, or kind. I cannot believe she said I should look for a new therapist in a voicemail, when we were just trying to connect by phone for the first time. We were playing phone tag. She never even talked to me personally. She is quite rude. Her voicemail was not nice.

I played phone tag with this woman for over a week now. I see now that the 818 number she keeps giving me to call is just a voice mail for her office and not a phone she will ever answer. She calls from a 310 number that must be her home, but does not leave that number as an option for me to call back her on. She also gives an 818 in her voice mail message for her emergencies for current patients, but never offered me her cell number to call. I left detailed messages about my insurance that pays for 5 sessions per yr and then asked about sliding scale. I am 22 yr sober, lost my career taking care of my mother who died of cancer recently so I have a lot of issues that need addressing and she seems annoyed me with me for not being there when she calls, but offers no time to call her back or at a real phone. One time a message from her was her outgoing voice mail message so she must have hit a wrong button. She claimed she left me detailed messages, I just hear her say her name and this 818 voice mail number. One time our land line phone did blink when a message left by her and the other time I was driving and I told her this when I called her voice mail back, and have an older car, cannot drive and talk on the cell. Clearly if you have a voice mail only number for an office then giving out this number all of the time does a potential client no good. If I can never call you on the cell or 310 number that keeps coming up, then she is not interested in helping me. She claims she left a message before about an institute with students and sliding scale, but today if the first time I heard this and she did not leave their phone so I googled them. She is a disappointment and I am glad to know what she is like and will go somewhere else.

I feel that for some clients she may be the perfect fit but for others, she could be an absolute nightmare. She constantly gave me sass often widening her eyes and making sarcastic and what i felt as unnecessary comments. She did not take the time to fully understand my thinking and where i was coming from making blatant assumptions about me and not making me feel comfortable in the environment. I do not plan on returning on account of her rudeness and prejudices.

Not only were they able to provide everything they promised me, they went above and beyond and exceeded my expectations. They definitely do their job extremely well, because they know how to make clients feel right at home. They were so friendly and welcoming! They were so kind and attentive to me. I didn't have to worry about them arguing with me, or contradicting what I had to say, which has been a problem for me at other places. They always have an immediate answer for me when I call with a question. They would never try to get me to make an appointment unless I really needed one.

Gail has a particularly annoying habit of constantly interrupting her clients. I found I could hardly get my story out. She made judgemental comments constantly and basically tried to order and structure my life in a way that she felt was more suitable. This is not what a therapist should do! Non-judgemental listening, empathetic feedback, and genuine relationship used to encourage therapeutic growth in the client is what therapy should engender. Not creating mini-Gails who ascribe to the same values and life intentions. I would advise you to look elsewhere for a therapist.
