Just who I needed to get me through a difficult divorce after a long-term marriage.

I have seen Darsi 3 months now, I feel very comfortable and definitely feel she ha been excellent in making me want to discuss things I didn't even know I needed to discusS.

Upon meeting Darsi, she barely acknowledged me and would not even look at my mother (as we were going to a family therapy session and had scheduled it as such). She presented herself as someone who was there not to help but do business. Her demeanor was distanced and burnt out.
It should be noted that there is a strong Christian focus in her work. The entire office is decorated with various bible quotes, Christian symbols (angels, etc), and various objects and items with "FAITH" in large letters, which gives the strong impression of a religious/spiritual viewpoint. When asked about if she had more of a spiritual or religious viewpoint in her therapy, she responded that "unless you were a hardcore atheist or Jewish then you wouldn't have a problem with me". (obviously excluding any people who have had trauma with church or who may have felt uncomfortable with the amount of personal objects within the office).
She then proceeded to tell us (with a condescending, snarky tone) that "you obviously have issues you need to work on". I politely asked if she could then potentially recommend a few therapists instead and she refused and stated that she couldn’t help us. I would not recommend her to anyone I know.

While her message may have been accurate, she delivers strong criticism in a bullying approach. I think a good counselor is honest, but also kind and respectful.

Direct, honest, clear, insightful - this therapist is one of the best. If you need to be coddled and told you are awesome even when you are screwing up your life, this one is not for you. If you are ready to face your problems and increase self-awareness, go see Axford!

Provider is an angry, overweight woman who takes her own frustration out on you and deals from weakness instead of strength.

She is a dominant, know it all! Wish I never met her. I wish I could report how inappropriate she was with me.

Thank goodness I know the difference with a a kind and compassionate therapist vs this totally mean spirited lady.
