I have a head injury from a fall, which caused very bad headaches on one side of my head. I decided to try acupuncture, after a couple people suggested I should give it a try. I was willing to try anything. My headaches are way less severe. Who would think a couple needles in your feet and hands, would help so much. I am definitely a believer now.

Paul Buchman is the best acupuncture practitioner I've ever come across. I was a regular when he was still practicing in Baltimore, and I've missed his fantastic skillset and personality ever since he left. I've probably seen well over a dozen practitioners that graduated from the school Paul graduated from, and can assure you that those of you in NC are absolutely fortunate to have such an amazing resource available to you.

I have known Paul Buckman since 2010 after searching for an alternative therapy for my mother. My mother, then 92 years old, had been in serious pain for quite some time. She had been treated with pain meds and injections to help with the pain in her hip and back. The medications made her feel terrible, and within a short time, the bilateral facet block she underwent was no longer providing any relief. A friend referred us to Paul. It was quite a trip from Pickens, SC up the mountain to Rosman, and then to Brevard. My mother was in agony as we traveled around all the curves, and I was beginning to secretly question whether we were going to be able to keep her appointment. When we arrived, Paul was warm, inviting, compassionate, professional, and had a wonderful sense of humor. My mother met with Paul weekly until late 2011. I often had an appointment during the same time frame to help with stress. We both enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere that prevailed in Paul's office. Within a short time, my mother was surprised that she was able to get about with much less pain. After my mother entered an assisted living facility in Easley, SC we no longer were able to make our trips up the mountain. Mom died in December 2012. When Paul learned of her passing, he came to her visitation. He brought a picture of my mother with his precious black and white Portuguese Waterdog, Cookie, and placed it in her casket.
Wednesday, November 18, 2020, I learned I was going to have to have total hip replacement surgery on November 30. I called Paul and explained about my imminent surgery and wondered if he could see me before. As is typical of Paul, he was able to see me the very next day. It had been quite a few years since I had been to Brevard. After a few minutes of conversation, Paul went into his kitchen and came back with that same beautiful picture of my mother seated on his couch with Cookie. It was a beautiful memory and touched me deeply that he still had her picture in a prominent place. My husband drove me for my appointment that morning because of the pain and difficulty I was having getting about. After getting reacquainted with Paul and meeting Paul's newest light chocolate brown, Portuguese Waterdog, Tigger, Paul performed his magic. I definitely had a better rest of the day and will be seeing Paul as soon after my surgery as possible. Thank you, Paul, for all your kindness and for making yourself available when my concerns were so great. I highly recommend Paul Buckman for any of your health needs,

I started coming to Paul three years ago (six years after back surgery) as a result of my husband’s encouragement that his friend, Paul, knew of my pain and believed he could help me. Although I was skeptical (being a nurse who believes in the medical model) my pain was holding me captive at home, so I answered the hope and encouragement Paul was offering.
In May 2017 as I began with Paul, I was so grateful for having come. Paul’s optimism, happiness, and friendliness were a balm for my sadness and frustration. His intelligence, energy, and creativity stimulated my thinking and gave me strength and hope. As I continued coming, I grew more inspired by his professionalism and his passion within it. It was obvious he loved helping people toward better well-being through his life work of acupuncture.
Of course, Paul’s degrees, certification, and experience impressed me as I observed them on his office walls along with complex charts, images, and correlations reflecting biophysical and metaphysical interrelationships. Paul referred to these frequently when explaining –in laymen’s terms—their meaning. I believe Paul is exceptionally gifted in his field, with his intelligence, intuition, spirituality, and tactile and sensory capacities.
By the end of May, I could ride again for three hours in a car with lessened back pain to see our grandkids. By early summer I could travel to Nebraska to see our other grandkids. And by late summer my husband and I travelled to Michigan to stay with friends a week! Then, in fall of 2018 I felt strong enough to go with my husband on a Norwegian cruise! How wonderful to have my joy and life back. Paul’s acupuncture regenerated my energy and lessened pain in my damaged sciatic nerve. This has been a miracle!!!
Paul has taught within every physical treatment the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual
concepts and principles and their meaning. This coaching about the relational dynamics between body, mind, emotions and spirit has been transformational and effective in my life. He has taught that to reach a healthier balance of well-being. I needed to learn how to be grounded in my authentic self with awareness of my attitudes, values, behaviors, etc. He has offered me examples, stories, recommendations, and resources as helps. Paul has shown the way by doing the work toward balance of body, mind, spirit and emotion with the result that he is our true example: Paul. A humble, spiritual person with love, joy, honesty, generosity, courage, compassion, etc. living graciously in the present --radiating being grounded in healthy balance.!!!
Currently I have been practicing Paul’s teaching about balance. I am very encouraged and grateful that my pain no longer dominates my true self; I have placed it to the sidelines as a minor thing I live with =a transformational feat!!! I keep learning to live in the present-- pursuing relationship to God, myself and others, goodness, generosity, laughter, newness, miracles, and the many virtues that can be developed within.; I have also used a resource Paul enthusiastically encouraged about nutrition and nerve disease. It is excellent and transformative!!!
I whole-heartedly recommend Paul!!!His knowledge and teaching of how mind, body, emotion and spirit all work together and his knowledge and artful skill in physically
assessing. diagnosing, and treating the patient with needles are exceptional!!! YOU ARE THE BEST, PAUL! BK

Paul took his time and made me feel comfortable with his practice. He answered all my questions and helped me understand exactly what it was he was doing, and the theory behind it. Thanks.
