Let me preface my comments by saying I am in no way affiliated with Lavender's Day spa. I'm just a client who goes there frequently and purchases gift certificates on a regular basis.

The gift certificate the woman is complaining about is good for A YEAR. She didn't state how long after her husband left she attempted to use it, but it MUST have been a minimum of 13 monhts after it was given to her, considering her experience.

While I agree she should have received better customer service and shouldn't have required three phone calls to get an answer, I have never purchased a spa certificate that did NOT have an expiration date, and you cannot expect a spa to honor them indefinitely.

I have had good experiences here, and I recommend Lavender's to people regularly.

My husband purchased a gift certificate for this location prior to deploying. It was placed in a sealed envelope. He told me what it was for, and to use it while he was gone. When I opened the envelope, the gift certificate had expired. I called the company on 3 occassions over a month, and finally got a response. The first two times they took my phone number to have the manager call me back "when she got in". That was on a Saturday both times. No return phone calls at all. The 3rd time, they said they would take my phone #, but the owner only comes in on Mondays. I insisted they call the manager, and return my phone call the same day. The response I finally received (not by the manager, by the same girl who kept saying she would have the manager call, but assured me that this time she actually spoke to the manager in person) is that 30 days after the expiration date, they no longer honor the gift certificate, even if I still have it in hand, and have proof of when it was purchased, because it "falls off of their system" and they have "no way to track it"!!!

So, no matter how nice they may look from the outside, I can guarantee that I will never set foot inside, or try any of their services, based on the poor customer service, poor response from the owner, and the fact that they have taught me a $150.00 lesson being careful who you choose to make special gift purchases from.

My husband has confirmed that they never mentioned the expiration period to him, or he would have gone somewhere else, knowing how long he was going to be out of country. Lesson learned, and one day spa DEFINITELY off the list of places I will EVER visit!!
