This guy was an arrogant jerk. He did more talking than listening and seems to have some anger management issues. Stay away!

I am a am someone who knows a lot abt neuroscience & have tried to find a psychiatrist who keeps up on brain research & newest findings on medications. (you would think most of them would, but in my experience at least , they don't). Dr. Strauss keeps up w new data, and can also talk abt things like how Nutrition affects mental health, meditation, etc. He is not a one size fits all guy. I have been struggling with depression & anxiety most of my life, and am finally feeling better under his care. You might have to wait some weeks for the initial appt., but it's better to get someone who really knows his stuff --you know how it can get so depressing (!) to go to people who just shoot from the hip on their suggestions.

I've already recommended him to friends. I don't think there's a better psychiatrist out there. Since I started visiting him, I'm better than I've been in years in important ways. I don't mind waiting for him: it's always worth it, and I appreciate his willingness to spend time with patients. He is almost unique among the psychiatrists I've seen in that he listens carefully to all the data I can give him, and always has ideas for adjusting the treatment whenever needed.

Just as a side note, I was very impressed with how conveniently located this business was and how close it was to other shopping centers. It was so easy to find, I didn't have any trouble at all. One thing I noticed about their office was how absolutely fantastic it smelled. They must clean or sanitize all the time. They offer the best pricing I've ever seen. I couldn't believe how little I ended up having to pay. I was worried that they were going to wear an obnoxious cologne, because I've dealt with that at other places, but they didn't even wear cologne. It was fantastic to be able to breathe freely the entire time. I love that they are always more than happy to answer my questions, and actually welcome questions. I've felt awkward at some other places I've visited when I've tried to ask a lot of questions, but not here.

The office was very easy to locate. I didn't have any trouble finding it at all. Their entire office was immaculate. It was obvious that they took very good care of it. They were so kind and attentive to me. I didn't have to worry about them arguing with me, or contradicting what I had to say, which has been a problem for me at other places.

Doctor Straus does what he feels is best for you. He takes on one issue at a time, gives you your options, and lets you know what he feels is best for you. He is also willing to listen to your concerns and suggestions, and will let you know why they aren't the best initial treatments. It's obvious that he knows what he's talking about, knows the risks involved in every decision, and understands the disease or illness (regarding psychiatric conditions) better than any other doctor that I've met.
