Dr Costa and his staff are AWESOME. In fact, he is such a wonderful doctor that when I moved from the area a few years back, I did NOT switch doctors. I drive 45 minutes, one way, to see him for my health care needs. The appointments are easy to make, and there is very little waiting after check in. The office is bright and clean with lots of reading materials. Bathroom is always fresh and clean as well. As far as the staff, the nurses could not be nicer and the desk staff are very polite and easygoing. Dr Costa goes above and beyond to provide one on one care and takes the time to listen and react appropriately to all of your concerns. You are not just a number, you are a person. I never leave his office with unanswered questions or doubts. Very worth the drive!

Dr. Costa is a well-informed general practitioner whose knowledge crosses over many specialty areas of medicine. I feel confident in his advice. He takes the time to listen to me. He is both patient and thoughtful. The downside of this attentiveness is a longer waiting period for a scheduled appointment than in some other offices. While I wish that would change, it is worth the inconvenience to have a thorough, interactive physician. Dr. Costa's staff are both friendly and efficient.

I have two objections, which are not related to Dr. Costa's care but, I think, a result of Roper internal practices: (1) I have never been referred to a specialist outside of the Roper network, although I believe there may have been more appropriate referrals outside of Roper; and (2) Future appointments with referred specialists are scheduled between the two medical offices, with no input from the patient, resulting in appointments which may need to be cancelled. Despite this, I would highly recommend Dr. Costa.

They had a few different appointment times available but none were perfect for my schedule. I've been to one or two places that had a really bad smell. I was worried I would encounter it here too but I didn't notice anything. They could've used quite a few more staff members. They were very understaffed and I ended up having to wait quite awhile. I would never refer any of my family and friends to go here. If I had know how terrible they were I never would have gone. I definitely don't trust their advice. They're only concerned about themselves.

They accused me multiple times of "not complying with doctors orders" and called me a "no show" when in fact I was out of the country for 2 months and out of the state for 3. I gave them plenty of notice ahead of time that I was leaving the country and we talking about my travels for several visits before hand. When I got back in the country and tried to schedule an appointment and refill some medications that I need regularly it took weeks worth of phone calls and leaving messages before I finally got a hold of anyone. At which time the office manager told me I had a history of cancellations and was a "No Show" and in a very accusatory voice suggested that I was lying about being out of the country.
There are way too many doctors in the Charleston area to ever waste my time or my insurance's money on this selfish, ignorant group of practitioners.

Not really. It felt like they just cared about making money.

I usually have to wait on hold for quite a while, but not as long as some other places
