I would not recommend this practice to anyone seeking a pediatrics practice for their children. That is sad to say as I have taken my children there for 20 years - but over the last few years I have had nothing but poor experiences with every office visit or problem that I have had.

It takes me a lot to become frustrated and write a negative review out of that frustration - but I have about had it with this practice, their rudeness, and the unapologetic manner in which they handle poor service complaints.

One would be hard pressed to find ruder and more abrasive staff members than those at FFP in the customer service areas of front desk staff, telephone receptionists, and billing staff. These people have an abrasive "Tough if you don't like it" attitude. They will argue with you, ignore you, and don't expect a return call from them over any concern or issue.

More frustrating is the wait time when you do have an appointment. I am 100% honest in saying that in the past three years of appointments - and my child needs to go every three months - I have never once waited any less than an hour after my appointment time to be seen. Whether your child is sick or well - waiting an hour to well over an hour - is trying for everyone - especially when you are just stuck sitting in a barren exam room for that amount of time with nothing for you or your child to do but stare at the walls. Then when you are seen, if the issue of the lateness is addressed at all - it is a simple "Sorry, we're really busy today." I'm sorry - but I am busy too. There has to be a way to correct this problem - I don't find it on a consistent basis with other doctor's practices - but obviously they do not care enough to take steps to do so.

My child has a condition that requires him to see the same doctor for most visits. Trying to get those appointments scheduled it a feat in it's self. I will say the the doctor is very competent and complete - but she pretty much has the personality and bedside manner of wallpaper paste. And I always get the creepy feeling that I am under cross examination when talking with her.

The only positive thing that I can say anymore about the practice is that the nurses who usher you in, and do the standard height, weight, blood pressure bit before you see the doctor, are usually nice.

I own a business myself ,and understand the problems and issues of doing so. But - if I ran my business like Fairfax Pediatrics now runs theirs - I would be out of business.

Anyone have any good recommendations on a pediatrics practice that actually cares?

I can see now why they specialized as a pediatrician because they were so kid friendly. They put in the extra effort to make my child feel special and important. I couldn't believe how encouraging and supportive they were. They never ridiculed or dismissed my opinions on parenting issues, and were always so considerate. I'm always amazed at how considerate and concerned they are for my well-being. Their advice is always wonderful and completely unbiased.

My whole experience at this office was above average starting with their very comfortable waiting room chairs to how patient and kind they were to my child. They were just fantastic.
They made sure that their qualifications were obvious. I was confident that I was under the care of a professional. This provider has helpful information available online, which is really convenient. They have a good website and online presence. They never have that typical, annoying music playing here. If they do play music it is soothing and appropriate for the setting.
