Even as a physician parent I don't respect Dr. Nordstrom and the rushed tone he sets in his office from receptionist to doctors. Only an occasional RN or PA treated us like people. From the first visit for my son, we were given a different doctor than Dr. Nordstrom with whom I had made an appointment , because a pediatric GI trainee said he was one of only pediatricians who still rounds on hospital patients. I was forced to discuss delicate issues in the common area by the fish tank , with another teen patient and mom right there( it was degrading) with the short male doctor who mumbled his name and refused my request to briefly speak in a private room. When my daughter first saw a female MD she entered without eye contact and as if in a big hurry, although she did change her tune when I said I was an MD too. Recently my son had mono and Nordstrom rudely cut my question short saying " this is just a mono follow-up visit". If he had listened for a second he would have seen the question was relevant to the mono and my college age son taking care of his body to recover. My husband is also a doc and thought Nordstrom was rude. He has never been treated respectfully there either. So glad my kids will soon be able to switch to adult doctors!
