The practice of pain management is difficult. He does drug screens every visit, He reviews the patient's medication via a state pharmacy report. He is very thorough in his examination. Patients write bad reviews because they were caught doing illicit drugs( cocaine etc), sharing drugs, selling drugs, bad urine screens(illegal drug in urine) or state reports that getting drugs from another doctor. If you curse or yell obscenities at his staff he will fire you.

Good but know when he puts you on an antagonist and you need emergency surgery that you must titrate off of the antagonist in order to get opiods for the surgery! the alternative (Cleveland clinic does this) is they jam a pain pump in you to override the pain and the antagonist. Too bad I can't do painpumps. So I cannot do antagonists. Do your homework! First! Go to the doctor with an educated mind and know what you are doing. Don't count on them to decide your treatment without your input! Just saying!

Very rude, no bed side manner, talks about himself, constantly gets your information wrong, staff can't seem to get things done, bizarre behavior swings. Go find yourself a real doctor.

My wife started going to Dr. Massau about 8 years ago. At the beginning he operated on my wife and fixed a screw up by another doctor. He is a very kind and compassionate man and will go above and beyond to help you. I had to make an emergency call to his office one night and Dr. Massau answered the phone as he was on call that night. He is direct and to the point and if he thinks your pulling his leg or giving him some crap, your out. As for the office staff, we have been to several pain management offices in the last 15 years and I can tell you his staff is the best we have ever come across. We seldom have to wait long to see the doctor. At other offices we have been to a 2 hour wait was the norm because a lot of the others run a production practice.

If someone is looking for a "pill mill" this isn't the office for you. They follow state & federal guidelines to the T! They are concerned bout your well being and how best to help you.
You will not receive a prescription the first time you visit, and maybe not the 2nd. Depends on your past history, which they pull from Ohio's OARS database. They go thru your entire health history, pain history, treatment history etc so your I rest visit s lengthy but when you leve you are sure they understand what your issues are and tht they will help you in any way possible.
I look forward to working with this professionally staffed office. I have utmost confidence in each person I worked with.
