Ingredients

  • 3 heads fresh broccoli, cut into florets

  • 1/2 cup olive oil

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 1/2 pounds cavatelli pasta

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

  • Boil a large pot of water and then blanch the broccoli for 5 minutes. Drain the broccoli and place it aside.

  • Boil a large pot of salted water for the cavatelli.

  • Meanwhile, put the olive oil in a large skillet and heat it over medium heat. Add the garlic and sauté it until lightly golden. Add the broccoli to the skillet and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  • Place the cavatelli in the boiling salt water and cook for 8-10 minutes. Drain the cavatelli and put it in a large bowl.

  • Combine the broccoli and cavatelli in the bowl, and toss to mix. Season the dish with Parmesan cheese, salt, and hot pepper flakes, to taste.
