Focus review on front staff not MD. Spoke to T. Antin less than three minutes to say I was leaving. Surprised a CEO was not more questioning and being an MD was not able to read my hesitancy. I was asked by him why I was leaving right in the hallway. The receptionist stood right next to me while both were oblivious to the fact it was none of her concern. I just simply said this is not for me. But for the introduction at the front door…
I have great difficulty being put on the spot. A similar situation ruined a relationship with a PCP I had great respect for. I froze at his DEMAND for an immediate answer which was not like him at all. Parkinson’s has greatly affected executive function. Given time, or a non-confrontational one on one, I am fine. While I do own this as my issue, PD and Early Lewy Body Dementia will not allow ownership for too much longer.
The receptionist, fancying herself a clinical intake person, was quite adept at making me feel “less than.” Apparently being on the entrance side of reception renders one inferior; at least through her eyes. I completed release of records forms for myself, PCP, and Neurologist. Without even looking at me it was stated that records are not given to patients. I explained that this was a consult unless I decided to continue Tx and I needed the records. If I could not have them they might as well cancel the appointment. I believe, she believed, that she asked me to have a seat and get comfortable. Speaking again to the computer, she said SHE would ask the doctor what he thought about it and now looking at me I should “go” have a seat over there. I refrained from mentioning that I have been a nurse for over forty years, fifteen were in middle management; three as VP of Nursing and COO; five as CEO of psychiatric-chemical dependency hospitals and, capable of discussing this with the MD myself. Before remanding myself to a chair I was also told she had my appointment down as two in the afternoon. When I told her I received confirmation of the appointment I was told to find it and let her see it.
I mentioned recalling taking the 10:30 having made this appointment in late August and was given a 2:00 by the scheduler. When I repeated 2:00 on such and such a date with Dr. Antin she said “No, no I made it with his PA.” If I did not specifically say Dr. Antin I would have shown up and been a very unhappy camper. I declined her offer and repeated that I asked for a time with Dr. Antin. Following grumbles and sighs she told me it could not be until 11/01/2021 at 10:30 and an afternoon is not available until December as though I would simply say okay to the PA. I said that 11/01 at 10:30 would be fine and logged it ion my calendar while speaking to her.
I was looking forward to this appointment and actually felt that Dr. Antin seemed like a very nice person.

Don't use this provider. It is an assembly line operation that uses grad students for most of the work. The people that see you are always in a hurry and they are not very professional. It is a very large and impersonal environment.
