Although the office is conveniently located and reasonably organized, Dr. Levy himself is a bit of a loose cannon. I went to seek treatment for job stress, and through his recommendations I found myself ramped up to approximately 10 pills/day. I had never suffered from depression before visiting him, and have not since, but at the time I was absolutely despondent. Even more disturbing than his heavy reliance on medication was the regularity with which he made mistakes on prescriptions. I found that I needed to carefully review each prescription and, invariably, 1 or 2 of them were for incorrect dosages or medications. There are better choices in the area.
They answered most of my questions but I could have used more information. Their staff was friendly enough, but they didn't go out of their way to help me. I felt like my needs were mostly met, but they didn't make any extra effort. To add to this I feel that Dr. Levy is adequate in his job but not exceptional.. He listens but sometimes dosen't really seem to be interested in what you are saying.. Stares at his computer the whole time you are there and basically it is a 5 to 10 min visit where then he gets up and says well have a nice evening.. The office could be cleaner too..
I saw Dr. Levy from the time I was 13 until I was 20. Didn't have many complaints, because as a psychiatrist, we spoke for about 10 minutes, he adjusted medications and sent me on his way - that's the nature of the business. However, a couple years ago I stopped taking my medications and missed all of my appointments with him. I never got a phone call from any one of the staff, and considering the field and the nature of the disease, I would think that a follow-up phone call would've been important. Made it clear how un-important I really was.
