I went to Smile Boutique 9/16/2020.. My teeth were extracted and temporary implants placed. The temporary teeth kept breaking. At one appointment the impression material was left in my mouth too long to the point that a seal formed underneath the arches. It took 3 people to get the impressions out of my mouth. It truly felt like they were going to break my jaw removing it. I have asked multiple times for my medical records with certified mail twice and I have personally spoken to Ivan, the medical director 4 times and Jay in medical records 4 times requesting them. I initially requested them on June 2021 and again in October and I keep being told they will send them. As of date they have not provided me with my medical records. I have seen other specialist and they concur the reason the implants keeps breaking were the bite was severely off. They stated not enough bone was removed and the grafts were placed in incorrect position leaving the implants too high and causing the arches to break when chewing. If you are considering implants do not walk but RUN from
This establishment. They have 3 businesses operating under the name Smile Boutique, one in Thousand Oaks. One in Northridge and one in Beverly Hills. They have no trouble taking your money but they lack professionalism , skills and are not specialists in dental implants.
In January 2024, I received a call from Cynthia. She apologized for my experience and said that She and Dr Stan would like to fix my teeth and that there would be no additional out of pocket expense. We made an appointment and I went in. At the initial appointment In January, Dr Stan replaced the abutments. I was there for several hours. They filed the palate off my top denture and screwed the dentures to the smaller abutment he had placed in my mouth. Dr Stan wanted me to come back in two weeks on February 7, 2024 when he was at the Thousand Oaks location. I understood from our conversation that my permanent teeth would be attached to the implants when I returned on February 7. On February 7 after driving 3 hours to get to the Thousand Oaks location from Palm Springs a 10 minute scan was performed and the bottom right back tooth was polished as it has broken and was sharp. I was very disappointed that I had driven so far for a short scan and had to leave without my permanent teeth. I expressed my displeasure with Cynthia and even wrote a letter expressing my disappointment and to see if future work could be consolidated due to driving distance.

Prior to my first appointment in January, I had contacted the dental board for assistance in getting my dental records that I had not been able to get. On February 18, I received an email from Cynthia stating that Dr Shaer had received a second record request from the dental board and Cynthia asked that I submit in writing to withdraw my request from the dental board. Two days late, Cynthia emailed me again stating that they would no longer fix my teeth.

I spent a lot of money at the Thousand Oaks Smile boutique and despite my being afraid to trust them, I was excited to finally get my teeth fixed. I trusted that Dr Stan would do the right thing, but here I am once again left without my teeth being fixed and my dentures weakened due to modifications and holes being placed in them to attach to the abutments.

This is unjust behavior.
