As a cardiologist, Dr Rick Gaines enjoys being able to treat his patients at every level, from the prevention of illness to stopping disease progression to managing the symptoms. He is particularly interested in using noninvasive testing and advanced imaging to determine customized treatments for each patient. He works with the TriHealth cardiac CT program, which uses CT imaging to rapidly obtain 3-D images of the heart. This cutting-edge technology can be used to detect and assess a number of heart conditions, as well as plan and evaluate treatment options. Dr Gaines treats adults with diseases of the cardiovascular system, including coronary and valvular heart disease, congestive heart failure and cardiomyopathies.
