Gloria Chia-Yi Chiang, M.D. is a board-certified radiologist specializing in neuroradiology. She is Assistant Professor of Radiology at Weill Cornell Medical College and Assistant Attending Radiologist at the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Campus.Dr. Chiang earned her B.A., with Highest Honors, in economics from Princeton University and was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa society on graduation in 2002. She then attended Harvard Medical School and was awarded her M.D. degree in 2006.Dr. Chiang did a transitional internship year at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, San Jose, CA before completing a residency in Diagnostic Radiology (2007-2011) at the University of California San Francisco Medical Center (UCSF). She remained at UCSF for a year of Fellowship training in Neuroradiology before joining the radiology faculty at Weill Cornell Medical College in August 2012. Dr. Chiang's clinical expertise is in Neuroradiology. She interprets a variety of neuroradiologic studies (MRI, CT, radiographs) involving the brain, spine, and head/neck, and she also performs neurointerventional procedures including fluoroscopically-guided and CT-guided lumbar punctures and myelograms.Dr. Chiang's research focuses on imaging of neurodegenerative diseases. She received the NIH/NIBIB Clinician-Scientist in Biomedical Imaging T32 training grant in 2009. Specifically, she has published on imaging biomarkers of preclinical Alzheimer's disease, including diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), arterial spin-labeling perfusion (ASL) imaging, and hippocampal volumetry. For this work, she was given the award for Best Oral Paper at the American Society of Functional Neuroradiology (ASFNR) annual meeting in 2012.
