John W Hiemenz, MD is a board certified medical oncologist trained in adult and pediatric oncology, as well as infectious diseases, who has special interest and expertise in the care and management of patients with hematological malignancies and those undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. After his initial recruitment to join the bone marrow transplant faculty at UF in Gainesville as an assistant professor, Dr Hiemenz moved to Tampa to help establish the newly formed Division of Bone Marrow Transplantation at the H Lee Moffitt Cancer Center under the leadership of its founding director, Dr Gerald Elfenbein (another former UF faculty member).
