I brought my 14 year old daughter to Michelle as she had a sore throat, no fever, for 4 days and I wanted a strep test. The test came back negative and she said it was probably a cold or virus. Michelle was nice as could be.

My daughter went to back to school and volleyball that night and tweaked her ankle in a play. The next day my daughter woke up with a 101 degree fever and the same sore throat. She also said her ankle was sore. We luckily had a well visit already scheduled for that day with Michelle so I figured I would talk to her more about the fever. My daughter's ankle had zero swelling and zero bruising and she still had full range of motion. We gave her a wrap that she could then use for practice once she was back to feeling better. Being a kid, she was excited about the wrap and put it on her ankle and we headed out the door to the well visit with Michelle. Went through the appointment and Michelle did not care that my daughter had woken up with a 101 fever. She did not suggest a flu test or anything like that. What she did care about was that my daughter had a wrap on her ankle. So much so that she refused to sign my daughter's sports physical. I begged her to take off the wrap and evaluate it for herself. She did. Once again....no swelling, no brusing, full range of motion and a 2 out of 10 on pain scale. My daughter even duck walked around the office with no issue. BUT Michelle would STILL not sign the sports physical which my daughter needs to be able to participate in her school sports. She said the only way she would sign the physical would be if I brought my daughter in for an X-ray. Keep in mind that Gateway Regional Medical Center that Michelle works for is where she wanted us to get the xray done. I asked Michelle if I could come back next week for another evaluation of the ankle instead or have another doctor (with half a brain) look at the ankle and offer their educated opinion. She denied my request. She said she would only sign the form if I paid for the xray. So, to keep my daughter on her team, I then had to pay $133.50 (my bill just came today) for an xray of a perfectly fine ankle!!!!! Totally ridiculous!!!

Another thing to note is that my daughter was not totally fine medically. I ended up taking her to the Wallgreen's Take Care clinic a week later and sure enough she had a ear and sinus infection. Too bad Michelle didn't take some time to figure out why my daughter had a fever instead of trying to figure out how to empty my pocket book with unnecessary radiology bills.
