Dr. Diaz-Garcia received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, graduating with honors. He then commenced his post-graduate training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Michigan Health System. He relocated to the city of Pittsburgh to complete a Hand and Upper Extremity fellowship in the Department of Orthopaedics at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. As a fellow, he developed his interests in reconstruction of complex hand/wrist/elbow trauma and injuries in high-level athletes, helping to care for the city’s professional athletes alongside his mentors.Dr. Diaz-Garcia has authored articles in journals such as the Journal of Hand Surgery and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and book chapters in texts of orthopedic surgery and plastic surgery.
