Why did you choose to specialize in Gastroenterology?

I had a marvelous Professor of Gastroenterology in Medical School named Clarence Legerton who brought the coordination of patient symptoms and findings to the bedside in classical Internal Medicine teaching. Later, as endoscopy evolved in the specialty, I found another level of interest and ability that complimented the traditional patient relationship.

Liver disease, esophageal disease, colon cancer screening, inflammatory bowel disease
