About

Aisha Siddiqui

Dr. Aisha Siddiqui feels honored when someone trusts her with their gynecological health and obstetrical care. Many women are placing their trust in her at the most sensitive times of their lives, such as when they are pregnant, trying to conceive or when they are experiencing gynecological issues. Her approach with patients is individualized and very personal.
"When a patient enters the room, it should be all about her," Dr. Siddiqui says about making women feel at ease. "Women tend to be nervous when they see their gynecologist. I'm very conscientious of that. My goal is to first make patients feel comfortable so they have no hesitations about discussing anything. We talk about their issues and their options, devise a plan together, and make sure all their questions have been addressed before they leave."
Dr. Siddiqui feels grateful to have the opportunity to care for women throughout their lifetime. As a physician trained in robotic-assisted surgery, Dr. Siddiqui is uniquely able to manage more complicated procedures such as complex hysterectomies and endometriosis with minimally invasive surgery. "The beauty of robotic surgery is that patients spend less time in the hospital, and recover more quickly and get back to their daily routine," she says.
Prior to coming to Indiana, Dr. Siddiqui worked with the University of Maryland where she served as the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department Chair and Medical Director of the Labor & Delivery Unit. She was also the lead physician in creating an obstetrics and gynecology practice in Maryland. She moved to Indiana to be closer to family. "Women's health is my passion and I consider myself lucky that I have found what I am meant to do."

In her own words

How do you spend your spare time? My hobbies include drawing and music. I also enjoy spending time with my family.
What languages do you speak? I lived in Pakistan until I was 10, so I am fluent in Urdu, Hindi and English.
Where has mission work taken you and what have you learned? I've traveled to Haiti and Guatamala and hope to do more mission work in the future. Mission work has taught me how blessed we are to have so much. What we consider basic needs are considered a luxury in most underdeveloped countries.
What have patients taught you over the years? Every patient teaches you something. Patients have taught me empathy and compassion. Throughout the years I've been caring for women, my patients have brought out the best in me as a person and as a woman.
